Transformative faith
In John 20:24-29, we read an amazing story of transformative faith.
One of the original disciples, Thomas, was known for his doubts. He’s known even now as ‘Doubting Thomas.’ After Jesus’ resurrection, many of his friends had seen Him, but Thomas was not with them. Despite Jesus’ earlier promise and the testimonies of trusted friends, Thomas doubted. Have you ever questioned your faith or felt that doubt disqualifies you from being a follower of Christ? If so, Thomas’s story offers hope. His doubt did not end his faith; it made it stronger because he contin ued seeking Jesus. Eight days later, Jesus appeared again, this time with Thomas pres ent. Jesus provided the proof Thomas needed, saying, “Do not be unbelieving, but believing.” Thomas’s doubts vanished, and he exclaimed, “My Lord and my God.” He transformed from Thomas the doubter to someone Jesus called blessed because of his confession. Jesus can do the same for us, turning our doubts into a profound faith if we genuinely seek Him. Has faith in Jesus transformed you?
