Falkville Funeral service for Mary Nell Evans, 66, of Falkville, was held Wednesday, July 24, 2024, at 3:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Phillip Hines officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery in Hartselle.
Mrs. Evans passed away on Sunday, July 21, 2024, at her residence. She was born December 2, 1957, in Morgan County, to Joseph Franklin Holmes, Jr. and Nelda Dunaway Holmes. Mary Nell worked as a Banker for more than 37 years. She began her career with Citizen’s Bank of Hartselle and remained with the bank through several name changes, ultimately retiring from Wells Fargo. She was a member of Hartselle Church of Christ. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister and daughter. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Preceding her in death were her parents and brothers-in-law, Michael Rose, Steve Evans and Charlie Rogers.
Survivors include her husband, Billy Evans; sons, Chad Evans (Molli) and Michael Evans (Tosha); daughter, Laura Evans; brothers, Glenn Holmes (Lisa), Lyle Holmes (Bonnie) and David Holmes (Sandra); sisters, Sue Stancil and Jenny Rose; sistersin-law, Margaret Stinson (Steve) and Tina Rogers; six grandchildren, Serenity, Emery, Elijah, Hudson Alan, Blakely Raye and Levi Evans; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Mark Hufnagle, Patrick Holmes, Zach Holmes, Blake McNutt, Dustin McNutt and Steve Stinson.
