A bomb threat at a residence just outside Hartselle on Thursday was a hoax, according to the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office.
The threat involved a call to the resident claiming there was a bomb inside the resident’s mailbox, in the 300 block of Rocky Ford Road, according to the office.
Morgan sheriff’s deputies set up a perimeter at the scene and requested a bomb squad. The Huntsville Police Department Bomb Squad responded and declared there was no explosive device.
The scene was cleared at 5:45 p.m., according to the Sheriff’s Office, and the source of the hoax call remains under investigation.
