20 under 40: Jaime Hatcher

Jaime Hatcher, 36

Worship Leader, Creative & Administrative Assistant, Life Church

Jaime Smyth Hatcher’s journey traces back to her early roots in Hartselle, where her family settled in 1992.
After graduating high school in 2006, Jaime initially pursued a degree in music therapy at William Carey University in Hattiesburg, Miss. Her pursuit of musical excellence led her to Belmont University in Nashville, Tenn., where she honed her skills in commercial music with a vocal concentration and songwriting emphasis. Under the mentorship of Grammy and Dove Award-winning songwriters like Tom Douglas, Drew Ramsey and James Elliott, Jaime flourished.

During her Nashville years, Jaime made her mark in the music industry, lending her vocal talents to demos and her own album, as well as contributing to acclaimed works by established artists like Leeland, People & Songs and Big Daddy Weave. Her full-time work in Christian music publishing brought her into collaboration with notable figures such as Lauren Daigle, Seth Mosley, Mia Fieldes and Kari Jobe.

Jaime’s life took a turn towards mission work and worship ministry in northern England before returning to Nashville, where she met and married her husband, Jacob. The couple spent four years in Louisville, Ky., pursuing theological studies before deciding to bring their growing family back to Hartselle.

Back in her hometown, Jaime immersed herself in local church ministry and eventually assumed the role of Director of Promotion and Events at the Hartselle Area Chamber of Commerce. Her responsibilities included overseeing numerous community events, notably the Hartselle Depot Days festival. Jaime’s dedication to her community earned her a scholarship to attend the Southeast Tourism Society’s Marketing College in Macon, Ga.

Currently, Jaime has transitioned back to full-time ministry, serving as a worship leader and holding a dual role as a creative and administrative assistant at Life Church in Hartselle. Together with Jacob, she leads the church’s young adult/college and career ministry, Vine, on Monday nights. The Hatchers are proud parents to three children: Hank, Chet and Mollie Jane.

Beyond her professional and family life, Jaime finds joy in pursuing her hobbies, including singing, playing guitar and piano, songwriting, cooking and savoring a good cup of coffee. Daughter to John and Denise Smyth, Jaime is not only a dedicated professional and loving wife and mother but also a woman whose journey reflects a harmonious blend of faith, community service and a profound love for music.
