Priceville, Falkville end seasons with losses

Priceville’s season concluded with a 54-37 loss to West Morgan in the first round of the 4A Area 13 tournament at Good Hope this past Saturday. The game was tied 22-22 at the half, but West Morgan outscored the Bulldogs 32-15 in the second half to pull away for the win.

Sammy Holmes led Priceville (6-20) with 13 points and six rebounds. Luke Hood added nine points and five rebounds, while Caleb Lawrence and Tatum Sivley each had seven points.

Priceville 49, Ardmore 40
The Bulldogs picked up a 49-40 win at Ardmore to finish the regular season. Priceville led 13-5 after the first quarter and 22-18 at the half.

Sammy Holmes finished with 31 points and eight rebounds to lead the Bulldogs. Early in the game, he passed the 1,000 point mark for his career. He is the sixth player in Priceville boys basketball history to surpass 1,000 career points. Caleb Lawrence added seven points and five rebounds.

Deshler 58, Priceville 46
Priceville lost 58-46 at Deshler last Monday. The Bulldogs trailed 19-7 after the first quarter and 31-20 at halftime.

Holmes finished with 18 points, seven rebounds, five assists and four steals to lead Priceville. Caleb Lawrence added 16 points and eight rebounds, while Tatum Sivley had seven points and seven rebounds.

Plainview 66, Brewer 51
Brewer closed the regular season with a 66-51 loss at home to Plainview. The Patriots led 24-23 at halftime. Austyn Holmes and Jackson Dunn finished with 14 points each, while Cason Oden added 13 points.

Lawrence County 63, Brewer 55
The Patriots dropped an area game 63-55 at Lawrence County. Brewer trailed 19-15 after the first quarter and 31-24 at halftime.

Dunn finished with 19 points and nine rebounds to lead the Patriots. Cason Oden added 13 points and five rebounds, while Austyn Holmes had 11 points, eight rebounds and five assists.

Holly Pond 52, Falkville 47
The Blue Devils season ended with a 52-47 overtime loss to Holly Pond in the first round of the 2A Area 13 tournament at Decatur Heritage. No stats were available.

Holly Pond 62, Falkville 39
Falkville lost 62-39 to Holly Pond to close the regular season. The Blue Devils trailed 32-27 at the half. Dawson Fowler finished with 17 points to lead Falkville. Cayden Butler added 11 points.
