Girls basketball: Danville, Brewer pick up wins

The Danville Lady Hawks (11-15) picked up a w 52-38 win over visiting Belgreen on Saturday afternoon. Adily Alberti led Danville with 13 points, five rebounds and four steals.

Maddie Sherrill added 13 points and four rebounds, while Ella Kate Tidwell had 10 points.

Decatur 59, Danville 51
Danville fell 59-51 at Decatur last Friday. They were led by Reagan Prater, who finished with a season-high 18 points.

Alberti finished with 12 points and seven rebounds, while Olivia Vest added eight points and Sherrill had seven points.

Brewer 51, Brindlee Mountain 41
The Lady Patriots (11-12) jumped out to a 12-4 first-quarter lead and didn’t look back on their way to a 51-41 win over Brindlee Mountain last Tuesday. Madisyn Freeman led Brewer with 14 points in the victory.

Chloe Romine had eight points and 10 rebounds, while Keylyn Stapler scored seven. Ava Walls and Kloe Grandstaff each had six points.

Madison Academy 54, Priceville 52 (OT)
The Lady Bulldogs dropped a heart-breaking 54-52 game in overtime to 5A No. 9 Madison Academy last Thursday. It was a tight contest, tied 25-25 at the half and 40-40 at the end of regulation.

Abby Langlois led Priceville with 23 points and nine rebounds. Carly Nelson added 10 points, while Ashlyn Johnson added nine points.

Arab 39, Priceville 34
Priceville fell 39-34 on the road to 5A No. 7 Arab on Jan. 23rd. The Lady Bulldogs trailed 17-10 at the half, Priceville’s lowest-scoring opening half of the season.

Carly Nelson led the Lady Bulldogs with 12 points. Abby Langlois added eight points and 10 rebounds.
