Patriots run past Ardmore for only victory of week

Brewer boys’ and girls’ basketball had a difficult week, with the boys picking up the only victory of the week, an 81-46 win over Ardmore.

Boys basketball
Arab 58, Brewer 49
Brewer led 18-16 after the first quarter but trailed 26-22 at the half in a 58-49 loss to 5th-ranked Arab. Austyn Holmes led the Patriots with 17 points and seven rebounds. Jackson Dunn and Cason Oden each added nine points, while Cam Ballinger had eight. Dunn had eight rebounds, while Oden pulled down seven.

Brewer 81, Ardmore 46
The Patriots led 19-10 after the first quarter and never looked back in their 81-46 victory over Ardmore. They led 43-29 at halftime before outscoring the Tigers 38-14 in the second half.

Dunn led the Patriots with 27 points, nine rebounds, five assists and four steals. Holmes added 11 points and five steals, while Kaden Cobbs and Casen Oden each added 10 points.

Girls basketball
Arab 56, Brewer 17

The Lady Patriots trailed 19-3 after the first and 34-7 at halftime in their 56-17 loss to 2nd ranked Arab. Madisyn Freeman led Brewer with five points. Lilly Yancey and Ava Walls each had three points. Keylyn Stapler had nine rebounds.

Ardmore 53, Brewer 39
Brewer dropped a 53-39 matchup on the road at Ardmore. Chloe Romine led the Lady Patriots with nine points and five rebounds. Abbey Summerford added seven points, while Walls, Freeman and Stapler each had five. Stapler also had 10 rebounds.
