“Falling”

By T.J. Newman

Captain Bill Hoffman was supposed to be off that day, but he found himself on the long flight from Los Angeles to New York City. After they got to cruising altitude, a call came in on his laptop that would change his life.  His wife and two children had been taken hostage back at home and Bill was presented with a choice.  He could crash the plane with 143 souls on board or watch his family be murdered. Bill has to decide how to save the plane and his family, but there is no time to think and no one he is allowed to tell.  Buckle up for this adrenaline-filled ride.

“The House of Eve”

By Sadeqa Johnson

Eleanor Quarles is working hard to keep her grades up while trying to have some fun with friends at Howard University when she meets the dashing William Pride, who is studying to become a doctor.  He is from DC’s elite society, and his mother doesn’t let just anyone into their world.  However, William is adamant that Eleanor is the one and they are determined to be together, no matter what challenges may come their way.

Ruby Pearsall is a teenager with dreams of being the first in her poor family to go to college.  She is competing in a program that is designed to help children realize their dream of higher education, and she is doing well.  That is, until she meets Shimmy.  Now she is being sent off to a home for wayward girls with only a promise from Shimmy’s disapproving mother that she will be able to continue school once her problem is “dealt with.”

Even though Eleanor and Ruby have never met, they are dependent on one another in a most important way.
