Priceville falls on the road at Plainview

The Priceville Bulldogs opened the 2023 football season with a 21-14 loss on the road at Plainview.

The loss snapped the Bulldog’s school-record 17-game regular season winning streak, which was Alabama’s fourth longest current streak.

After the teams battled to a first-quarter scoreless tie, Plainview scored two rushing touchdowns in the second quarter to take a 14-0 lead.

Priceville cut the lead to 14-7 right before halftime when Jake England scored on a 6-yard run.

The Bears extended their lead to 21-7 with a 1-yard touchdown run early in the third quarter.

England and his Bulldogs cut the lead to 21-14 when he scored on another 6-yard run late in the third quarter.

Defenses took over in the fourth quarter as neither team could get another score.

England finished with 67 yards rushing, two touchdowns, and 28 yards passing. Blitz Clemons added 70 yards rushing, while Riley Wagg added 37 yards.

Tyde Borden and Brody Collins each had 11 tackles to lead the Priceville defense.

On Friday night, Priceville will host Fairview, a 46-6 winner over Columbia.
