“Practice Makes Perfect”
By Sarah Adams

Annie Walker is determined to find her perfect match. But her high anxiety makes her come across as boring and awkward. When Annie overhears her date planning to make an exit, she decides she needs help. Annie and her future sister-in-law, Amelia, think a dating couch is the solution. Specifically, Will Griffin is their solution. Will is a no relationship type of guy. He is flirtatious, rebellious and happens to be Amelia’s bodyguard. Therefore, they trust him to be discreet and honest with Annie and her dating woes.

Between the meddlesome towns people of Rome, Kentucky and the faking dating, Will can’t help but fall for Annie. Annie learns to embrace her passions and discovers more about herself with Will’s help, and it makes her fall in love with him even more. Anyone that’s a fan of Sarah Adams will love this second installment of her “When in Rome” series. Check it out at the library today.

“Remarkably Bright Creatures”
By Shelby Van Pelt

Tova Sullivan has been working nights at the Sowell Bay Aquarium since her husband passed.  Mopping floors and washing windows helps keep her mind off her son that went missing after his high school graduation more than thirty years ago.  One of her favorite creatures at the aquarium is Marcellus, a giant Pacific octopus. Marcellus doesn’t typically like humans, but he sees something different in Tova. She is caring and considerate of all the sea creatures she visits every night. Marcellus is compelled to use his detective tendencies to find out what happened to Tova’s son.

Cameron has just moved to town with the intent of finding his father he never met.  He can’t ask his mother anything about him because she left him with his aunt when he was a child.  The only thing he has is a picture and a class ring.  When he gets a temporary job at the aquarium with Tova, he starts to learn more about being responsible and sticking it out when life gets hard.  What none of them realize is how they will all learn a lesson in love and new beginnings.
