Misty Maner
Hartselle
A celebration of life for Misty Nicholl Maner was held at Peck Funeral Home
on Tuesday, May 2, with fellowship with the family beginning at 2 p.m. and funeral services immediately following at 3 p.m., with Pastor Maylon LeCroix presiding. Misty passed peacefully and gracefully surrounded by her loved ones on April 28, 2023, at her home in Massey, Alabama. She was born May 29, 1979, in Decatur, Ala. to Lane Maner and Donna McCrary. She was a 1997 graduate of Hartselle High School. Misty worked in the medical field for most of her career, and at the time of her passing, was employed by Southern Fidelity as a mortgage processer. She was married to her best friend and partner of 22 years, Jeaniece Slater. She was doting mother to the light of her life, their daughter, Chloe Maner. Misty was as beautiful on the inside as she was on the outside. She always had an encouraging word to say and found positivity in every situation, even in the midst of courageously battling cancer for the third time. She was Jeaniece’s and Chloe’s biggest fan, supporting them in their sporting endeavors and other activities. She was known for her dimpled smile that was as bright as sunshine, her stunning eyes that were expressive and sparkling, her quick wit, her quirky sense of humor, and her huge heart and love for everyone she met. She made everyone feel like they were her best friend. Misty touched so many lives. Her loved ones are heartbroken at her passing that feels way too sudden but are rejoicing in the fact that this isn’t “goodbye”, but is instead, “see you later.” Misty was preceded in death by her father, Lane Maner; her father-in-law, Larry Slater; her grandparents, Ray Maner and Judy Maner Crim; grandfather, Billy Standridge; great grandmother, Lizzie Mae McCrary; aunt, Jean Baraglia. Misty is survived by her spouse, Jeaniece Slater; her daughter, Chloe Maner;
her parents, John and Donna McCrary; mother-in- law, Barbara Eddy; mother-in- law, Rhonda Slater; grandparents, Romilda Jacobs and Virginia Standridge; three sisters, Nikki (Rob) Nowlin, Julie (Andrew) Bosworth, and Stacey (Cleeton) Springer; a brother, Patrick (Mallory) Prater; a
sister-in-law, Terri (Mickey) Nelson; a brother-in-law, Keith (Tatha) Slater; nieces, Kele Nelson, Carly Jo Nelson, Ava Prater, Gracie Poe, and Lyndie Springer, and Hayden Slater; nephews, Ashton Nowlin, Hunter Nowlin, Grant Bosworth, Charlie Bosworth, Owen Prater, Eli Slater, and Chance Slater. Honorary pallbearers were Hunter Nowlin, Ashton Nowlin, Grant Bosworth, Charlie Bosworth, Patrick Prater, Owen Prater, John McCrary, Cleeton Springer, Keith Slater, and Michael Standridge. In lieu, of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Misty’s honor to Hospice of the Valley.
