Are you answering His call?

By Todd Barrier

As we grow in our faith with Christ, we begin to have the desire to serve Him. Sometimes it is a tough journey to find where we fit in to be able to serve. Do I work in ministry? Do I work within a congregation inside of a specific ministry? Do I have an interest in starting some type of ministry? Will I ever find where I can serve Him?

In the Bible, God reminds us that He has given us all different parts to do and we all need to do them (1 Cor. 12:12-31) to make the church run efficiently. We all desire to find that area where we feel “called.” We all want to feel as though we have a specific area to serve. While we look for that area where we excel or where we are interested there are things that all Christians are “called” to do. While we look for an area to serve, we can concentrate on how God calls us to live as His children.

Over the next few weeks, we will look at some things we are called to do as Christians. We will look at the book of Jude to find some things that can be found throughout the Bible that show us we are called to do these things. Next week we will look at being sanctified and preserved. Are you answering His call?
