Hartselle robotics teams state bound

Three robotics teams in Hartselle are bound for a statewide competition in Auburn. Teams made up of students from Hartselle Intermediate School and Barkley Bridge Elementary qualified for the state VEX IQ competition in Auburn.  

Team Bots and Team Borgs qualified earlier in the season by winning the teamwork challenge. Both of these teams have won several awards this season. Team Bots have won two teamwork challenge awards and an excellence award. Team Borgs have won two teamwork challenge awards, an excellence award and a skills award. Team Bytes qualified with their skills score ranking in the state competition.  

“We are excited to represent Hartselle City Schools at the State VEX IQ Tournament this weekend,” Barkley Bridge robotics advisor and gifted teacher Kim Jared said.  

The teams will travel to Auburn this weekend to participate in the VEX IQ competition.
