    Nicholas Andrew Powell

    Funeral service for Nicholas Andrew Powell, 35, was held Saturday, January 28, 2023 at 3 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Pat Powell officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial was in Falkville City Cemetery. Mr. Powell died Sunday, January 22, 2023 at UAB Hospital. He was born January 5, 1988, in Morgan County, to Craig Powell and Valerie Looney Powell. Nic was a pharmacy technician at Walgreen’s prior to his passing. He was a wonderful son, brother and uncle. Nic graduated from Falkville High School in 2006. Mr. Powell received a kidney transplant in 2003. When that kidney began to fail, he had begun a long journey waiting to receive another. Nic was loved by his family and friends. He was kind and always thinking of others before himself. Nic loved Disney and his transplant friends. He enjoyed playing video games where he met some very special friends. Nic was preceded in death by his grandparents, Charles and Edna Powell and Travis and Wilma Looney. Survivors include parents, Craig Powell and Valerie Looney Powell, Hartselle; brother, Stephen Powell, (Dorothy); nephew, Charles Powell; nieces, Elizabeth and Larkin Powell, of Texas; uncle and aunts, Grady Powell, (Cathy) and Kathy Morris, of Winfield; cousins, Pat Powell (Suzanne), Julie Sherrill, Matt Morris and Leslie
    Morris. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in his honor to the Alabama Kidney Foundation.

    Funeral service for Charles “Chuck” William Minhinnett, 70, was held Friday, January 27, 2023 at 11 a.m. at Annunciation of the Lord Catholic Church with Father Charles Merrill officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Mr. Minhinnett died Saturday, January 21, 2023 at his residence. He was born February 26, 1952, in Monroe County, New York, to Charles Henry Minhinnett and Mary Carol Hursh Minhinnett. He was employed in the auto body repair industry, prior to his retirement. He was a loving husband and father, was a brilliant man and a jokester. He loved drag racing; John Force Racing was his favorite team and he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was preceded in death by his parents and a nephew, Jeffrey Minhinnett. Survivors include wife, Francisca Minhinnett; daughters, Sylvia Camacho (JohnJohn), Mellisa Damon (Greg) and Jessica Minhinnett; brothers, Kenneth Minhinnett (Linda) and Richard Minhinnett; sister, Vickey Herrick, (Jerry); five grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Pallbearers were family and friends.

    Bobby R. Palmer was born March 27, 1941. He was raised in Morgan County, Alabama and graduated from Falkville High School in the Class of ’59. He joined the U.S. Air Force in 1960. He served in the Air Force on numerous in-state and overseas assignments and retired in 1983 as a Chief Master Sargeant (E9) from Eglin Air Force base in Florida. He loved and served his country with pride. After retiring, he and his family moved back to Morgan County, where he took up farming as a hobby. He was married to Stella Jean (Anders) Palmer for almost 61 years, and was a member of First Baptist Church, Hartselle. Bobby died at home on January 26, 2023 after being in and out of the hospital during 2022. He was happy to have been able to celebrate the holidays at home surrounded by family and friends. The family would like to thank Mr. Paul Tucker and Ms. Alicia Roper for their support and care during his illness. A come and go Celebration of Life will be held at the Palmer Farm (23 Palmer Loop, PVT Dr. Hartselle, AL) Feb. 4 from 1-4 p.m. There will be a memorial service at 2 p.m. with Chaplain Davis and with full Air Force honors. Preceding him in death were his parents, sisters, Wanda Daniel and Margaret
    Ann Palmer and brothers, Charles and Pervis Palmer. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Caring Place in Hartselle, to Comfort Care Hospice, the American Heart Association or your favorite charity. Survivors include wife, Stella Jean Anders Palmer; son, Mark Allen Palmer (Margaret); daughter, Debbi Palmer Whitlock (James); brother, Earl Palmer; grandchildren, Heather Whitlock Mitchell (James), Alyssa Whitlock, Eric Whitlock, Caleb Whitlock, Amy Palmer and John Mark Palmer; great-grandchildren, Sophia Mitchell, Levi Mitchell and Isabelle Mitchell.

     

    Norma Saade Lozano
    Falkville
    Mrs. Norma Lozano passed away on Thursday, January 26, 2023 at Summerford Nursing Home. She was born January 27, 1947, in Mexico, to Jorge Saade Soto and Badia Saade Soto. She was a homemaker for her family, always put others first and loved to make people happy. Preceding her in death were her parents and her husband. Survivors include son, Javier Saade (Elizabeth);
    daughters, Norma Saade and Yolanda Saade; sisters, Yolanda Saade and Cathy Edwards; grandchildren, Luis Guillermo de la Concha Quevedo, Ricardo Alberto de la Concha Quevedo, Marie Jose Barquin Quevedo, Diego Jesus Briones Quevedo and Anthony Michael Schmitt. Her family will hold a memorial service at a later date.

     

    James Palmer Osborn

    Funeral service for James Palmer Osborn, 102, of Decatur was held Tuesday, January 31, 2023 at 11 a.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Darrell Maddox and Sam Hess officiating with burial in the Center Cemetery with Peck Funeral Home directing. Mr. Osborn was born August 18, 1920 in Lawrence County, Ala. to Ingram Franklin Osborn and Mary Ellen Dobbs Osborn. He passed away Saturday, January 28, 2023 at Rehab Select in Albertville, Ala. James Palmer Osborn was born and raised in Lawrence County in a family with nine children. He was a veteran, serving in the U.S. Navy as a Gunner’s Mate on the USS Hale in the Pacific Theater during World War II. Mr. Osborn was married to the former Loree Walker for 43 years. Following the death of Loree in 1987, he married Merle Roberts in 1992, and remained married to her until her passing in 2017. He was a life-long lover of music, particularly Southern Gospel, and was an active participant in all-day singings and singing schools. His happiest times were spent with an instrument or songbook in his hand making a joyful noise. In addition, Palmer was a buck dancer who competed until the age of 98 at the Athens Ole Time Fiddlers Convention where he won the state buck dancing championship in 2016. He was an avid fisherman who enjoyed spending time on the lakes and rivers of North Alabama. In the fall, most Saturdays, he could be found cheering on the Crimson Tide. A quiet-spoken Christian man, he never missed an opportunity to spend time with his friends and family. Affectionately known as “P,” he was loved by his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His gentle thankful spirit will be missed by all who knew him. Survivors Include two daughters, Javon Owens (Jimmy) and Pamela Hess (Sam); two brothers, William Osborn and Doyle Osborn; sister, June Clark (Leslie); three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Brandon Owens, Gene Blankenship, Chris Rigoni, Keith Rigoni, Jimmy Clark and Shane Haynes. The family would like to thank the personnel that cared for our dad these past several weeks at Decatur-Morgan Hospital, Decatur Health and Rehab, Rehab Select at Albertville and Shepherd’s Cove Hospice of Albertville. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to The National WWII Museum.

    Robert “Bob” Daniel Keahey

    Funeral service for Robert “Bob” Daniel Keahey will be Saturday, February 4, 2023 at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral home with Pastor Rickey Hughes and Bro. Kevin Free officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. prior to the service. Bob was born September 9, 1972, in Montgomery County, AL,, to John and Anne Keahey. He worked as a carpenter all his life for different companies and was employed by C.I.E. (Custom Interiors and Exteriors), prior to his passing. Bob passed away January 18, 2023 at Huntsville Hospital. He was preceded in death by his parents. Bob Keahey was a loving husband and father. He and his family attended Eternal Life Ministries Church. Bob loved hunting, fishing, canoeing, hiking and everything to do with the outdoors. Survivors include wife, Samantha Keahey; three sons, Dale Keahey, River Keahey and Blake Campbell; two daughters, Aaliyah Knight and Erica Campbell; two brothers, John Keahey (Michele) and David Keahey (Katie); one sister, Shelly Bowling (Doug); four grandchildren, Malakai Campbell, Garrett Keahey, Rory Keahey and Senna
    Keahey.

    Funeral service for Linda Frazier, 81, will be Saturday, February 4, 2023 at 11 a.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Van Wray officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Valhermoso Baptist Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday, February 4, 2023 from 9-11 a.m. at
    Peck Funeral Home. Mrs. Frazier died Thursday, January 26, 2023 at his residence. She was born September 4, 1941, in Morgan County, to Onley Edward Brown and Lois Ann Stringer Brown. She was a homemaker and the Matriarch of her family. She taught us how to be good mothers and how to love and care for the ones we love. She shared her love with everyone she met. Preceding her in death were her parents and children, Dewayne Adkins and Melinda Blankenship. Survivors include husband, Raymond Frazier; son, Ron Frazier (Joanne); daughter, Venessa Johnson (Timothy); sister, Joan Holt (Lynn); grandchildren, Crystal Frazier-Fullenwider, Brittany Frazier, Candi Coffman, Ronnie Frazier, Jr., Austin Frazier, Ronnie Dale Johnson, Rusty Johnson and Ashley Terry; great grandchildren, Taylor Ricks, Nolen Willingham, Garrett Willingham, Nevaeh Frazier, Amyas Frazier, Jadyn Crow, Hannah Grace Crow and Hycinto Cannon; great great grandchildren, Lily Osborne and Ka’Loni Brown. Pallbearers will be Ronnie Frazier, Jr., Austin Frazier, Nolen Willingham, Garrett Willingham, Amyas Frazier and Bakari Fullenwider.
