Jalapeño Rita Mocktail

Looking to spice up a cold winter day? This jalapeño infused mocktail is sure to do the trick!  


½ c. sugar 

½ c. water 

1 jalapeño 

¼ lime juice 

¾ c. orange juice 

Club soda or sparkling water 

Garnish: limes, jalapeños, coarse salt 


  • Cut jalapeño in half and remove seeds 
  • Add jalapeño, sugar and water to pan and bring to a boil over medium heat 
  • Let mixture simmer until sugar has dissolved. Remove from heat and let cool 
  • Combine lime juice, orange juice and 3 tablespoons of sugar mixture in a pitcher 
  • If desired, slide slice of lime around rim of glass and dip into coarse salt 
  • Fill glass with ice and one quarter of juice mixture 
  • Add club soda to top off glass 
  • Garnish with lime and slice of jalapeño
