Boys basketball: Brewer wins two blowout games
The Brewer Patriots continue their resurgence after a slow start to their season with two blowout wins this past week.
Brewer 78, Ardmore 37
The Patriots opened the week with a 78-37 win over visiting Ardmore. Brewer led 46-23 at halftime and held the Tigers to 14 points in the second half.
Three players, Austyn Holmes, Garrett Clemons and Jackson Dunn, each scored 15 points to lead Brewer. Clemons was 5-for-5 from three-point range. Dunn pulled down eight rebounds. Mac Shadden added 11 points and five assists.
Andrew Einstein finished with 17 points for Ardmore.
Brewer 60, Danville 40
The Patriots swept the season series with Danville with a 60-40 win on the road. The game was tied 12-12 after the first quarter but Brewer built a 31-24 lead at halftime. They outscored the Hawks 29-16 in the second half.
Jackson Dunn finished with 25 points to lead the Patriots (6-7). He finished 11-of-14 shooting. Austyn Holmes added 10 points, five rebounds and four assists. Mac Shadden had nine points, nine rebounds and seven assists, while Kade George had nine points and seven rebounds.
A.J. Holladay finished with 13 points and seven rebounds to lead Danville. Ben Ellenburg added seven points.
West Morgan 68, Danville 41
Danville fell at home 68-41 to visiting West Morgan.
The Rebels (8-3) had three players finish in double figures with Carson Muse leading the way with 18 points. Isaac Ward had 13 points, while Jalen Fletcher added 12 points.
A.J. Holladay finished with 15 points to lead the Hawks (5-7).
Priceville 69, Meek 59
The Bulldogs eased by the Meek Tigers with a 69-59 win to start their Christmas Break. Priceville led 33-28 at halftime in a game that was close throughout.
Sammy Holmes finished with a career-high 31 points and six rebounds to lead Priceville (7-5). He hit eight three-pointers.
Cole Lindeman added 18 points and six assists, while Jake Langlois had eight points and five rebounds.
Jarrett Benson finished with 22 points to lead Meek.
