Hartselle’s Fletcher commits to UNA

Hartselle wide receiver Izayah Fletcher recently committed to the University of North Alabama to continue his football career.

Fletcher finished his senior season with 71 receptions for 907 yards and six touchdowns. He helped lead the Tigers to a 12-1 record and a trip to the third round of the state playoffs.

“Izayah is an outstanding person with a great family who pushes him to be the best he can be,” Hartselle football coach Bryan Moore said. “He has been an incredible player and leader in our program. He will help North Alabama win just as he did here in Hartselle. I look forward to following his journey every step of the way.”

North Alabama is coached by Brent Dearmon, who was hired in late November following a stint as offensive coordinator at Florida Atlantic. He was recruiting Fletcher for Florida Atlantic before getting the UNA job.

North Alabama currently competes in the Football Championship Subdivision but recently announced its intentions to join with nine other programs to move to the Football Bowl Subdivision.
