Girls Basketball: Danville, Falkville, Priceville pick up wins

The Danville Lady Hawks, Falkville Lady Blue Devils and Priceville Lady Bulldogs each picked up two wins last week. Brewer added a win over Russellville.

Danville 48, Falkville 28

The Danville Lady Hawks earned coach Mallory Alberti her first win over the rival Lady Blue Devils with a 48-28 win.

Maddie Sherrill had 14 points and five steals to lead Danville. Adily Alberti added 12 points and eight rebounds.

Liza Wallace finished with 12 points to lead Falkville, while Abbey Grace Tomlin had eight points.

Danville 60, Phil Campbell 47

Danville picked up area win number one with a 60-47 win over Phil Campbell.

Maddie Sherrill finished with 19 points and five steals to lead Danville. Elisabeth Hand added 11 points and five rebounds.

The Lady Hawks led 27-23 at halftime.

Priceville 86, East Lawrence 24

Priceville raced past East Lawrence 86-24 for their first area win of the season.

Leslie Hames led four Priceville players in double figures with 23 points. Lauren Hames had 19 points and seven rebounds. Zoey Benson added 15 points and eight rebounds, while Carly Nelson had 11 points and six rebounds.

The Lady Bulldogs led 50-11 at the halftime break.

Priceville 61, West Morgan 19

The Priceville Lady Bulldogs improved to 2-0 in area play with a 61-19 win on the road at West Morgan.

Zoey Benson finished with 19 points to lead Priceville. Lauren Hames added 17 points, while Abby Langlois had 11.

Ansley Terry finished with nine points for the Lady Rebels (5-3, 0-2). Karly Terry had six.

Priceville led 33-6 at halftime and 53-14 after three quarters.

Falkville 71, Whitesburg Christian 24

The Lady Blue Devils (7-4, 1-0) defeated Whitesburg Christian 71-24 this past Saturday.

Ellie Cate Hill finished with 22 points, seven steals and six rebounds to lead Falkville. Liza Wallace had 11 points and six rebounds, while Abbey Grace Tomlin added 11 points, five rebounds and three steals.

Falkville 65, West End 27

Falkville picked up their first area win with a 65-27 win over West End.

Ellie Cate Hill finished with 25 points and six steals to lead Falkville. Abbey Grace Tomlin added 17 points.

The Lady Blue Devils led 36-10 at halftime.

Brewer 47, Russellville 43

Brewer rallied from a halftime deficit to pick up their first area win of the season with a 47-43 victory over Russellville.

Lilly Yancey finished with 11 points to lead the Lady Patriots. Cierra Marquez added 10 points, while Madisyn Freeman had eight points.

Ella Copeland and Jacey Moore had 15 points each for Russellville.
