Boy’s Basketball: Priceville’s third-quarter surge leads to a 63-46 victory over West Morgan

The Priceville Bulldogs used a 22-4 run to start the second half to pick up a 63-46 area victory on the road at West Morgan this past Friday.

The Bulldogs (5-3, 2-0) three-point shooting and defense led the way. Priceville hit 12 three-pointers in the victory while their defense held West to four points over the first 10:03 of the second half as they built a 55-31 lead.

Cole Lindeman scored a team-high 16 points with four three-pointers to lead Priceville. Tyler Case had 14 points and Sammy Holmes added 11.

“I thought rebounding in the third quarter was the difference,” Priceville coach JR Dilbeck said. “I didn’t think we rebounded very well in the first half, and that was probably our biggest adjustment at halftime.”

The Bulldogs outrebounded West Morgan 39-24. Case led Priceville with nine rebounds, while Holmes and Jake Langlois each had eight rebounds.

Carson Muse finished with a game-high 18 points to lead West Morgan (4-2, 1-1). Byron Parrish added 12, while Jalen Fletcher finished with nine.

Priceville 67, East Lawrence 52

Priceville picked up their first area win of the season with a 67-52 win over East Lawrence.

Cole Lindeman finished with a game-high 27 points to lead the Bulldogs. He scored 14 points in the fourth quarter to help Priceville get the win. He also had five assists and five rebounds. Sammy Holmes added 16 points.

The Bulldogs went from down two after the first quarter to up two at halftime.

PJ Head led East Lawrence with 12 points.

Danville 67, Falkville 47

Danville raced by Falkville 67-47 to get coach Ben Mastin’s first Hawks’ victory over their rival Blue Devils. Danville led 31-20 at halftime.

Aiden Holladay finished with 22 points to lead Danville, while Ben Ellenburg had 12 points.

Isaiah Warnick had a game-high 26 points for Falkville.

Danville 56, Phil Campbell 49

The Hawks earned their first area win of the season with a 56-49 win over Phil Campbell.

Ellenburg finished with 19 points to lead Danville. Gage Taylor had 16 points, while Holladay added 12 points.

Canaan Clay scored 19 points in the loss for Phil Campbell.

Falkville 58, West End 53

The Blue Devils defeated West End 58-53 for their first area win of the season.

Dawson Fowler finished with 16 points to lead Falkville. Caden Burnett and Isaiah Warnick had 10 points each.

Falkville led 32-29 at halftime.

Whitesburg Christian 68, Falkville 36

The Blue Devils fell to Whitesburg Christian by a score of 68-36 this past Saturday.

Isaiah Warnick finished with 13 points to lead Falkville. Dawson Fowler added 10 points.

Isaiah Matthews led Whitesburg Christian with a game-high 21 points.

Russellville 60, Brewer 41

Brewer fell to 0-1 in area play with a 60-41 loss to Russellville this past Friday.

Jackson Dunn led three Brewer players in double figures with 12 points. Mac Shadden and Austyn Holmes added 10 points each.

The Patriots trailed 28-18 at halftime.

KJ Murray scored 12 points to lead Russellville.
