Priceville, Danville, Brewer pick up wins

CULLMAN – The Priceville Bulldogs found themselves in a battle with defending 6A state champion Cullman this past Friday. The Bearcats used a 21-6 run in the second quarter to stretch a one-point first-quarter lead to a 39-23 halftime lead.

Sophomore Sammy Holmes hit four 3-pointers on his way to a team-high 20 points to lead Priceville (3-3). Cole Lindeman finished 11 points and six assists and three steals.

Priceville’s Xander Gaines suffered a season-ending leg injury in the fourth quarter of the loss. He had six points and three rebounds at the time of the injury.

Priceville 51, Madison County 50

Jake Langlois’ 3-pointer with 15 seconds left gave Priceville a 51-50 win on the road at Madison County this past Thursday The Bulldogs battled from behind to get the victory.

Holmes led Priceville (3-2) with 16 points, including a 3-pointer late in the fourth quarter to tie the game at 48-48. Lindeman finished with 13 points, while Langlois had 11. Gaines had 10 rebounds.

Danville 63, West Point 58

Danville picked up a home win over West Point this past Friday.

AJ Holladay led the Hawks with 25 points and seven assists. He hit five 3-pointers. Gage Taylor added 22 points, eight rebounds and four blocks.

Brewer 67, Brindlee Mountain 30

The Patriots (3-5) picked up their third win of the season with a 67-30 win over Brindlee Mountain.

Austyn Holmes led Brewer with 21 points. Jackson Dunn had 15 points and five rebounds, while Kad George added 10 points. George was 7-of-8 at the foul line.

Arab 61, Brewer 38

Jackson Dunn scored 16 points in Brewer’s 61-38 loss to visiting Arab. Mac Shadden finished with nine points and seven rebounds, while Tyde Fairbanks added seven points and five rebounds.
