Funeral service for Judy Pope, 73, was held Wednesday, November 23, 2022 at
11 a.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Dennis Shaddix and Bro. Royce Shelton officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial was in Corinth Cemetery. Mrs. Pope died Sunday, November 20, 2022 at her residence. She was born December 16, 1948, in Morgan County to Audrie A. Maze and Hazel Grady Maze. She was employed by Chrysler and also worked for Morgan County in the sales tax department, prior to her retirement. She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Neal Pope, Sr.; her parents; sons, Brandon Pope and Tyrone Pope; and a great-grandchild, Brena’ Riner. Survivors include son, Billy Neal Pope, Jr.  (Tammy); brother-in-law, Edward Pope (Debbie); sister-in-law, Janice Williams (Jerry); grandchildren, Amy Pope (Eric), Steven Pope (Lisa), David Pope (Chelsea), Maquire Pope and Kristin Sawyer. Pallbearers were David Pope, Maguire Pope, Steven Pope and Eric Burnham. Honorary Pallbearers were Amy Pope, Lavin and Brettlee Riner, Dawson Pope, Kristin Sawyer and Chelsea Pope. 

 

Donald Lee Kirkpatrick, Sr. 

Pulaski, Tenn.  

Donald Lee Kirkpatrick, Sr., age 75, passed away Thursday, November 17, 2022 in Southern TN Regional Health System, Pulaski, Tenn. He was born in Decatur, Ala. on April 5, 1947, served in the Air Force, and was preceded in death by his parents, Horace Lee and Mary Elizabeth Slate Kirkpatrick, a sister, Jean Briscoe and a son, John “Squirrel” Campbell. Survivors are his wife, Janice Rose Kirkpatrick of Pulaski; sons, Donald Kirkpatrick, Jr. and Sarah of Athens, Ala. and Daniel Kirkpatrick and Maranda of Somerville, Ala.; stepdaughter, Michelle Bevels and Jason Minor Hill; brothers, Frankie and Larry Kirkpatrick both of Hartselle; sisters, Cornelia Kirkpatrick and Donna Turcotte both of Moulton; grandchildren, Weston, Nathan, Dawson, Raven, Savannah, Hannah, Mackenzie, Emma and Jessica, along with six great- grandchildren. Carr & Erwin Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. 

 

William Daniel “Danny” Bartlett
Somerville
A visitation only for William Daniel “Danny” Bartlett, 56, was held Wednesday, November 23, 2022 from 5-7 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home with Peck Funeral Home directing. Mr. Bartlett died Monday, November 21, 2022. He was born December 22, 1965, in Morgan County to William Lewis Bartlett and Lillian Marie Lemmonds Bartlett. He worked in construction as a forklift operator, prior to his passing. He was preceded in death by his father and a sister, Vicky Kay Blankenship. Survivors include mother, Lillian Marie Lemmonds Bartlett; sisters, Jullie Dianne Ragsdale, Suzy Bartlett Gay, Bobbie Bartlett, Lisa Bartlett Beaver (Avery), and Mary Bartlett Marbut (Neil.) 

 

Eloise Mason 

Hartselle 

A graveside funeral service for Mrs. Eloise Mason was held Saturday, November 26, 2022, at 11 a.m. at Oak Ridge UMC Cemetery with Peck Funeral directing. Mrs. Mason passed away Wednesday, November 23, 2022, at the age of 79 years old. She was born to Lee and Bertha Aaron Freeman on April 10, 1943, in Winston County. Mrs. Mason worked as a bank teller at Colonial Bank. She loved to go fishing and loved being outdoors. She was preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include her husband of 21 years, Billy Mason; sons, Vincent Gillott and Wayne Gillott; sister, Levonia Gillott; eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were family and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested a donation be considered to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. 

 

Vanessa Perez Jorge 

Hartselle 

Funeral service for Vanessa Perez Jorge, 7, was held Friday, November 25, 2022, at 12 p.m. at Annunciation of the Lord Catholic Church with Father Charles Merrill officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial was in Oak Ridge Cemetery. Miss Jorge died Sunday, November 20, 2022, at Decatur Morgan Hospital. She was born April 4, 2015, in Morgan County to Moises Perez Santiago and Elena Jorge Castillo. Vanessa was a member of Annunciation of Lord Catholic Church and attended Danville-Neel Elementary School. She was our little angel and will be greatly missed. We will always remember her. Survivors include father, Moises Perez Santiago; mother, Elena Jorge Castillo; two sisters, Dianna Perez Jorge and Janet Perez Jorge; grandmother, Hilda Castillo; grandfather, Saul Vergara; two uncles, Alfonza Jorge Castillo and Jose Angel Jorge Castillo; three aunts, Stacey Estasy, Dulce Vergara, and Valeria Vergara; Godmother, Gloria Hernedez (Miguel Quiroz.) 

 

Tamara Goss

Funeral service for Tamara Carol Goss, 59, was held Monday, November 28, 2022, at 11 a.m. at Living Springs Baptist Church in Smyrna, Tenn., with Bro. Ed Boles officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial was in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Murfreesboro, Tenn. Mrs. Goss died Friday, November 18, 2022, at Huntsville Hospital. She was born November 30, 1962, in Davidson County, Tenn. to David Eady and Carol Ann Inman Eady.  She was employed by Family Dollar, in retail sales, prior to her passing and was a lifelong member of the Living Springs Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. In Christ she lived, had many friends, and had a humorous outlook on life. She was preceded in death by her mother. Survivors include husband, John Goss; father, David Eady; son, Daniel Jackson (Heather); son, Christopher LeMay (Stacy); brother, Rickey Eady; sister, Christy Eady; grandchildren; Chandler LeMay, Colbey LeMay, Brianna Shelton, Savanna Cobble and Montana Cobble. Pallbearers were Josh McCormich, Jeremy Mummel, Ron Eady, Jeffery Eady, Chandler LeMay and Colbey LeMay.    

 

Baron Rollins

Mr. Baron Rollins, 50, of Hartselle, died November 25, 2022. He was born December 25, 1971 to Homer Rollins and Betty Ray Rollins in Lawrence County, Ala. Mr. Rollins was a loving husband and father. He had a heart of gold and would give you the shirt off his back. Mr. Rollins went to Hartselle Church of Christ. He loved to watch the Andy Griffith show. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Baron Rollins was preceded in death by his dad, Homer Rollins; his brothers, Faron Rollins and Timothy Paul, and his foster mother, Joyce Light. Survivors Include wife, Anne Rollins; two sons, John Borden Rollins and Michael Rollins (Leslie); daughter, Amaeia Rollins; four brothers, Daren Rollins, Hershall Brown, William Brown, and James Rollins; four sisters, Brenda Gail Rollins, Penny Rollins, Robin Rollins and Mandy Rollins; two grandchildren, Chloe and Jack.

Graveside funeral service for Mrs. DeLorese Cole Speegle was held Monday, November 28, 2022 at 1 p.m. at Salem United Methodist Church Cemetery. Mrs. Speegle was born September 6, 1939 in Alabama to L.W. Cole and Lola Mae Osborn Cole. She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Gordon Speegle and her husband, Tharon Speegle. Survivors Include son, Jeffrey Speegle (Amy) of Muscle Shoals; grandchildren, Brad Speegle (Melissa) of Kentucky, Garrison Dooley of Muscle Shoals, and Anna Beth Crump (Nathan) of Tennessee; four great-grandchildren and a host nieces and nephews. Family and friends served as pallbearers.

Mrs. Tammy Barnette, 51, of Hartselle, died Saturday, November 26, 2022 at Decatur Morgan Hospital. Mrs. Barnette was born July 6, 1971 in Shreveport, Louisiana to Max “Bud” Hull and Janis Faye Hodges Hull. She was preceded in death by her father and sister, Kimberly Denise Hull. She was a nurse for UAB Hospital. Survivors include son, Wyatt Barnette of Athens; daughters, Jordan Jaep (Jessee) of Hartselle, Autumn Barnette of Ft. Campbell; mother, Janis Hull of Albertville; and three grandchildren.  

 

Jason Cole Moon

Funeral service for Jason Cole Moon, 21, of Somerville, was held Tuesday, November 29, 2022 at 11 a.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Frankie Flack, Brother Jeff Drake and Brother Equator Black officiating with a graveside service at 2 p.m. at Birdsong Cemetery in Pulaski, Tenn. With Peck Funeral Home directing. Cole, who was born December 5, 2000 at Decatur General Hospital, died Friday, November 25, 2022 at Huntsville Hospital. He loved anything outdoors
but especially hunting and he loved his faithful dog, Axle. He was preceded in death by his mother, Melissa Moon. Survivors Include father, Jason Moon; brother, Bradley Moon; sister, Brooklyn Moon; grandfather, Vaughn Moon all of Somerville; grandparents, Victor and Anne Whitt, Pulaski, Tenn; uncle, Jerry Moon (Connie), Somerville; cousins, Donavon Moon, Hayden Moon, Rylee Whitt and Levi Whitt Donavon Moon, Hayden Moon, Jerry Moon, Ronnie Frazier, David Adams and Jerry Adams served as pallbearers. 

 

Dois Smith Woodard

Funeral service for Dois Smith Woodard, 88, will be Wednesday, November 30, 2022 at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Johnny Perkins officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Johnson Cemetery in Speake. Ms. Woodard died Friday, November 25, 2022 at her residence.  She was born May 11, 1934, in Morgan County, to Cordie Lee Smith and Ethel Curtis Smith. Dois was a lovely lady who loved her family and friends. She grew up farming
on her families’ farm. They had a large garden as well as cotton they picked by hand. She was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church in her youth. as an adult, she was a homemaker for her family and a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother and continued to assist with her family farm. She was always available to help a friend in need. She sewed costumes and clothing for baby dolls as well as making all types of sewn housewares. She loved yard sales and flea markets. She never hesitated to offer her help even as far as driving people to Birmingham for doctor appointments. She will be sorely missed and we know that we were all truly loved by that one incredible lady. Rest in heavenly peace Ms. Dois. Survivors include son, Larry D. Woodard;
sister, Dorothy Martin’ grandchildren, Brian Woodard and Jason Woodard; three great-grandchildren, Cole, Wyatt and Waylon Woodard. Pallbearers will be Chris McLemore, Brian Woodard, Jason Woodard, Chris Harrison, Tim Sandlin, Brad Wade and Chad Dawson.
