Lady Tigers pick up win over West Limestone in Encore Classic

The Hartselle Lady Tigers (3-3) opened the Encore Classic Thanksgiving Tournament with a 63-27 win over West Limestone.

Gracie Hill finished with 16 points to lead three Lady Tigers in double-digits in the victory.

Anna Hampton Burroughs added 15 points, while Karleigh Shipley scored 10. Hartselle led 30-17 at halftime.

Kamey Kennemer led West Limestone with a game-high 17 points, while Carlie Belle Winter scored eight.

Mortimer Jordan 54, Hartselle 49

Burroughs scored a career-high 19 points in Hartselle’s 54-49 loss to Mortimer Jordan.

Shipley and Hill each had seven points for the Tigers, while Emma Roden scored six.

The Lady Tigers trailed 39-30 heading into the fourth quarter and 44-30 early in the fourth before mounting a comeback. They got as close as 50-47 with less than a minute remaining.

Kayhi Scottland had a team-high 19 points to lead Mortimer Jordan. Jaylan Pleasant added 11 points, while Sarah Kanady had 10.

Vestavia Hills 66, Hartselle 28

Burroughs had eight points, four rebounds and three steals in Hartselle’s 66-28 loss to 7A Vestavia Hills. Hill finished with five points.

Jill Gaylard led three Vestavia Hills with a game-high 14 points. Anna Towry scored 11, while Rosemary Gill had 10.
