Beware of porch pirates during the Christmas season  

The Morgan County Sheriff’s Office says that many people are already ordering Christmas presents. According to their office an estimate of 36% of Americans have had a package stolen at least once during the holidays.  A list of tips to help keep your package safe include check with your neighbors, don’t leave unattended packages, ship packages to the store, use a security camera and always require a signature. For more information about keeping your packages safe during the holidays, go to BBB.org/Holiday. Also look out for your neighbors and if you see any suspicious activity be sure to report it. Shady Grove Baptist Church news The members of Shady Grove Baptist Church are currently collecting pop tabs for Danville-Neel School to be donated to Ronald McDonald House Charities of Alabama . All support will be greatly appreciated.  

An updated list for Operation Christmas Child shoe boxes includes coloring books, crayons, boys socks, girls accessories like hair bows, brushes, hair ties and other girl items, pencils, small balls, yoyos , chapstick and play dough. Danville Baptist Church will be the drop off location this year. Drop offs can be made through Nov. 21 . For more information, contact Laura Vest at 245-654-7977 .  

The members of Shady Grove Baptist Church will hold a Joint Praise Thanksgiving Service at Neel Methodist Church Nov. 20 at 6 p.m. Everyone is welcome to attend. 

Falkville area community activities  

The Christmas Light Season at Sportsman Lake Park, will be open Nov. 18. They will have many more lights this year. The admission will be $10 per vehicle. The dates will be, Nov. 18, 20, 25, 27, 30 and Dec. 1, 4, 7, 11, 14 and 23 from 5-9 p.m. nightly.  The theme is Winter Wonderland.
