Priceville has top-four finishes at state championships
The Priceville boys and girls cross-country teams capped off their record-breaking season with top-four finishes at the AHSAA 4A state championships. The championships were held at the Oakville Indian Mounds in Lawrence County this past Saturday.
The girls finished third overall, a school record, and were first among public schools. Anna Katherine Hopkins and Elizabeth Cain finished fourth and fifth to lead Priceville. Hopkins set a personal best and school record with a time of 19:53. Cain’s finish of 19:56 was also a personal best. Hopkins and Cain earned all-state honors based on their finishes.
The boys finished fourth overall, a school record, and were second among public schools. Adam “Woody” Taylor finished fifth, while Maclain Lawson finished 13th to lead the team. Taylor and Lawson earned all-state honors based on their finishes.
Brewer
The girls’ team finished 5th in the 5A state champions. Sisters Rose, fourth place finish, and Autumn Betts, ninth place, were named All-State following their finishes.
