Title: “The Couple Next Door”
Author: Shari Lapena

Anne and Marco’s baby has been taken from her crib in the middle of the night while they were at a dinner party at the house next door. They knew that they would be judged by the public for leaving her alone for any amount of time, but they didn’t think anyone would accuse them of harming their own baby. Nothing could be further from the truth – right? So what if Anne has that strange condition that makes her black out when under extreme pressure?  And does it really matter that Marco’s business will fail without major funding? Or, are the cops missing some other clue that might point out a different person?  This one will keep you guessing until the very last page.

Title: “Daisy Darker”
Author: Alice Feeney

Daisy is the youngest of three daughters in the Darker Family. Rose and Lily are older and get to do anything they want. Sleepovers, parties, and even school were all taken away from Daisy when they discovered she had a heart condition. They said she had to be careful because any stressor could trigger her condition and cause her to leave them.  So, they kept her inside and away from the world. The Darker family is not close by any means, but Rose and Lily are closer to each other than to Daisy. The only friend Daisy has is her Nana.  Nana lives in a big house situated so close to the water that she is cut off from civilization every night when the tide comes in. Nana invites the whole family to come for her 80th birthday party, but once the tide comes in, people start to die, and no one can leave. Trapped inside during the storm and high tide will stretch the limits of each family member’s trust. Everyone is hiding something and their secrets will be exposed with every hour that passes. What exactly happened all those years ago to made someone so angry?
