Hartselle High chorus to perform at Disney World

For the Enquirer

This December, 40 members of the Hartselle High School performers and Chamber Chorale will be traveling to Florida to perform and showcase their program at Disney World. Seniors and juniors from the program will be performing selections from their Christmas Concert Dec. 1.

“We had to submit a video of the choir singing two pieces of our choosing that followed the guidelines provided by Disney,” Hartselle High School choral director Kate Dupuis said. “I had to complete an application which outlined some of the specifics of our group, down to the exact attire we would be wearing should we be chosen to perform, and submit that with our video,” she added.

Early December is a great time for the group to travel, Dupuis said, and Disney had performance slots on the days they were hoping to be in Florida, making the trip an easy decision.

Choir members are looking forward to the trip and performance as well.

“I see this as a wonderful opportunity to bond with my classmates,” junior Karson Olive said. “We perform better when we feel closer to each other. I know that this trip will help us make great memories that will be a highlight of our high school years.”
