Are you making time for God?

By Todd Barrier

School has started back. Schedules are busy with work, sports, school and other activities as well. The summer of vacations and parties is over and it’s back to reality. No matter what time of year it is, we are all busy. We live in this fast-paced world full of things we have to do and things we choose to do. Whether it’s summer time or here at the beginning of a new school year we can’t lose focus on what’s most important – our relationship with Christ.  To do that we must have our feet set in Christ, in all things. He says in Matthew 28 that He has all authority.

As a child of God, we have submitted to that authority. He also says that we should value coming together to exhort one another and to stir up love and good works (Hebrews 10:24-25). So, according to His authority, it’s a must that even with so much going on we make time for God and His people. In fact, we can’t just make time and squeeze Him in, He has to be our top priority (Matthew 6:33.) When He is, the chaos of this world becomes much easier to handle, no matter what time of year it is. Are you making time for God?
