    Charles Ruben Dean, Sr.

    Mr. Charles Ruben Dean, Sr. passed away June 20 at Hospice Family Care. He was born May 8, 1944, in Morgan County to Charles Hugh Dean and Mary Magdlean Glass Dean. He was employed by Monsanto as a color control specialist prior to his retirement. He was a wonderful father and grandfather and will be missed. Preceding him in death were his wife and his parents. Survivors include sons, Charles “Chuck” Dean, Jr., and Jimmie Dean (Tracy); daughters, Carol Dean and Kim Massey; and numerous grandchildren. No services are scheduled at this time.

    Bunzie Motes Blankenship

    Falkville

    A graveside funeral service and interment for Bunzie Motes Blankenship, 94, were held June 23 at 11 a.m. at New Center Cemetery with Bro. Ben Bates officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Mrs. Blankenship died June 19 at Summerford Nursing Home. She was born August 22, 1927 in Morgan County to Johnny Wesley Motes and Sydney Pear (Hammack) Motes. She was employed by Decatur City Schools, in the Custodial Department prior to her retirement. She was preceded in death by her husband; Harvel Blankenship, her parents; John Motes and Sydney Hammack Motes and a host of brothers and sisters. Survivors include daughter, Patsy Sharp (Jerry); sister, Linda Montgomery; grandchild, Jon Sharp (Lisa); five great-grandchildren, Hunter, Kendall, Katie, Holden and Brinley. Pallbearers were Scott Moore, Kent King, Eddie Hoenig, Robert Hopper, Tommy Adcock and Jon Sharp.

    Eleanor Rose Craft

    Funeral service for Eleanor Rose Craft, 3, was held June 23 at 3 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Ben Bates officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial was in Ebenezer Cemetery. Eleanor Craft died on Sunday, June 19, 2022 at Decatur Morgan Hospital. She was born March 8, 2019, in Madison County to Cody Dillan Craft and Megan Leigh Alexander. She was a beautiful child, loved dearly by her parents. She loved her momma and daddy and was a “daddy’s girl.” Eleanor was a funny little girl that loved making everyone laugh and enjoyed singing all of the time. She loved summertime and the water, loved wearing her dresses and playing with her baby dolls. Her favorite things were unicorns and SpongeBob. She admired her big brother, Camden, and followed him around everywhere. She was loved and will be missed by all who knew her. Survivors include her parents, Cody Craft and Megan Alexander; brother, Camden Lee Craft; sister, Stormie Aura Craft; paternal grandparents, Teresa Weil (Sherlon Hall); maternal grandparents, Cathy Alexander (Rodney); aunt, Lily Craft; aunts and uncles, K-lynn Barnes (Jonathan); Eric Alexander (Kaitlyn) and and Hannah Uher (Vinny); cousins, Maci and Rylyn Alexander.

    Bobby Kevin Byrd

    Falkville

    Bobby Kevin Byrd, 62, of Falkville, died June 23 at Decatur Morgan Hospital. He was born November 6, 1959 in Morgan County, to Bobby George Byrd and Mary Frances Franks Byrd. He was self-employed, doing small engine repair. His parents preceded him in death. Survivors include sisters, Lydia Cathers and Cindy Cone. No services are scheduled at this time.

    Joyce Brown Legg

    Hartselle

    Funeral service for Joyce Brown Legg, 86, was held Jun e26 at 3 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Royce Teague officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial was in Oak Ridge Cemetery. Mrs. Legg died June 22 at her residence. She was born September 16, 1935 in Morgan County to Jethro Buford Teague and Niecie Malone Chenault Teague. Joyce was employed by Calhoun Community College, by Electrolux, and was an Avon Lady, prior to her passing. She was a member of Oak Ridge United Methodist Church for more than 70 years and held several leadership roles in United Methodist Women, MYF and the church board. She served and supported her children in their extracurricular and school activities. She was a 1953 graduate of Morgan County High School. Preceding her in death were former husband, Raymond Brown, husband, Julis Legg, her parents and special friend, Medford Long. Survivors include son, Danny Brown (Beth); daughter, Dana Brown; five grandchildren, Brian Hayes (Emily), Elizabeth Lamar (Jeff), Emily Trahan (Eric), Erin Smith (Shawn) and Laura Martin (Seth): seven great-grandchildren, Holden Hayes, Minor Lamar, Asher Lamar, Kyra Trahan, Margot Trahan, Harper Smith and Tucker Martin. Pallbearers were Brian Hayes, Jeff Lamar, Minor Lamar, Eric Trahan, Shawn Smith and Seth Martin. The family would like to express special thanks to Hospice of the Valley.

    Charlotte Marie Robertson Geer

    Falkville

    Funeral service for Charlotte Marie Robertson Geer, 58, was held June 26 at 7 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Emmitt Heard officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Ms. Maples died June 23 at her residence. She was born November 5, 1963, in Clark County, Ala., to David Gray Robertson and Helen Lassiter Robertson. Charlotte was a loving mother with a heart of gold. She loved cross-stitching, John Wayne western movies and was an avid Auburn fan. She was a graduate of Danville High School, class of 1982 and was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church. She loved her family, nieces and nephews all and they lovingly called her “CharChar.” She loved her dogs, Prissy, Sophie and J.J. Charlotte was employed by Walmart in customer service prior to her passing. Her parents preceded her in death. Survivors include son, A.J. Maples; daughter, Heather Patterson (David); special friend and companion, Terry Geer; sisters, Cindy Sparkman (Maurice) and Brenday Deffenbaugh (Barry); grandchildren, Corbin Mears, Ainsley Maples, Peyton Evans and Nova Maples; brother, Jeff Robertson (Teresa).     Funeral service for Don G. Brown, 72, was June 27 at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Spencer Bell officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial was in Hartselle Memory Gardens. Mr. Brown died June 23 at his residence. He was born December 8, 1949, in Morgan County to W. E. Brown and Nina Brown. He was employed by Monsanto, Solutia as a chemical operator, prior to his retirement. He was a mason and a Shriner and a veteran of the U.S. Army. He loved antiquing and deer hunting. He loved his family very much. Preceding him in death were a daughter, Tonya Brown, a sister, Judy Cerullo, a brother, Ted Brown and his parents. Survivors include wife, Sandra Bishop Brown; stepsons, Shawn Whisenant (Cheree) and John Whisenant (Shannon); daughters, Regina Yamaguchi (Aaron) and Paige Cantrell; sister, Linda Foster; grandchildren, Ashton Whisenant, Harley Mize, Jaxon Yamaguchi, Jayden Yamaguchi, Jace Yamaguchi, Kassidy Whisenant and Karleigh Whisenant; one great-grandson, Lucas Clay Whisenant. Pallbearers were Ashton Whisenant, Jaxon Yamaguchi and Shawn Whisenant.

    Danny Hogan

    Funeral service for Danny Hogan, 62, was held June 27 at 11 a.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Mike Miller officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial was in Andrews Chapel Cemetery. Mr. Hogan died June 24 at Cullman Regional Medical Center. He was born July 23, 1959, in Morgan County, to Emmett Quinton Hogan and Ola Levene Hill Hogan. He retired from his employment at General Motors Saginaw- Delphi plant. He was in the production machine operator. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother; Richard Hogan, sisters; Su McCaghren and Shirley Singleton and a niece; Tammy Luker. Survivors include sister, Sandra Luker (Edward); brother, Darryl Hogan (Kim); nieces and nephews, Jessica Hogan, Dawn Terry, Anita Miller, Becky Smith, Sissy Locklear, Tim Singleton, Craig Hogan and Keith McCaghren; several great nieces and nephews.

    Tessa Swindle Morris

    Decatur

    Funeral service for Tessa Swindle Morris, 48, of Decatur, will be July 2 at 3 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home with Cody Landis officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial is at Roselawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1-3 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Mrs. Morris died June 24 at Huntsville Hospital. She was born on July 7, 1973 in Morgan County to Charles and Barbara Swindle. Mrs. Morris was a loving mother and grandmother. She absolutely loved spending time with her family, friends and loved her grandbaby dearly. Mrs. Morris was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, and sister, Joyce Stewart. Survivors include husband, Lee Morris; two sons, Michael Morris and Brandon Morris; two daughters; Michele Swindle (Antwane Grady) and Danielle Bell; two sisters, May Hammock and Diane Lansdell Dyer; one granddaughter, Anastasia Bell-Garcia. Pallbearers will be Tommy Bell, Yancey Bell, Jose Gordan, Sloan Berrymen, Chris Morris and Dale Morris. Honorary pallbearers are Brandon Wornick, Michael Morris, Brandon Morris and Antwone Grady.

    Eric Kimbrough

    Hartselle

    A memorial service for Eric Kimbrough, 51, will be July 1 at 7 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Eric Stephenson and Bro. Spencer Bell officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be from 6-7 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home. Mr. Kimbrough died June 25 at his residence. He was born February 5, 1971 in Colbert County to Barry Peter Kimbrough, Sr. and Delores Catherine Richards Kimbrough. Eric was a chemical operator for Hexcel prior to his passing. He was a wonderful father, grandfather, husband and brother. He loved telling jokes and making people laugh. He was a Mason who loved hunting and fishing and his dogs. Most of all, he loved his family, especially his grandbabies. Preceding him in death were his parents, a brother, Robin Kimbrough and his stepfather, Donnie Hagwood. Survivors include wife, Sandra Clark Kimbrough; son, Benjamin Kimbrough (Megan Veillette); daughter, Erica Kimbrough Davis (Kyle); stepmother, Nancy Kimbrough; brother, Barry “Pete” Kimbrough, Jr. (Kay); sister, Sherie Sapp (Mark); sister-in-law, Alice Kimbrough; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Kenneth and Erlene Clark; grandchildren, Brantley Eric Davis and Bennett Kyle Davis; stepsisters, Heather Shields, Jamie Lawrence, Laurie Learn, Donna Cartee and Tracey Crosswhite.

    Deborah Boles

    Somerville

    Funeral service for Deborah Boles, 63, was June 29 at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial was at Mt. Tabor Cemetery. Mrs. Boles died June 25 at her residence. She was born May 17, 1959 in Morgan County to Gene Paul Dudley and Sherry Laverne Frazier-Key. She was employed as a cook for Velma’s Restaurant prior to her passing. She loved her children and especially her grandchildren dearly. Preceding her in death were her parents and a brother; Jimmy Key. Survivors include daughters, Mecca Milam and Lacey Hankins; sons, Anthony Lovato, Matthew Lovato, and Dwight Boles; brothers, Roger Frazier and Bobby Key; twelve grandchildren; two great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were family and friends.
