Hartselle all-stars compete in USSSA state championships

The Hartselle 8U and 10U All-Stars traveled to Pell City for the USSSA State Championships this past weekend.

After dropping two pool games to open the tournament, the 10U All-Stars battled through three straight games Saturday to win the championship. First, they opened bracket play with a 14-4 win over Marbury. Then, in the semi-finals, they defeated Boaz 12-10 to advance to the championship game. Finally, they defeated Fyffe 13-5 to win the gold championship.

The 8U All-Stars finished 2-0 in pool play before advancing to bracket play and the three seed. They opened bracket play with a 21-20 win over Madison County. In the second round, they defeated Pelham 25-21 to advance to the silver major championship game. They finished second after falling to Wetumpka Gold 19-14.
