The Hartselle Area Chamber of Commerce, along with The Higdon Team, presented the inaugural City Night student worship event April 13. 

Approximately 400 students attended the event, which was held at Sparkman Civic Center. Entertainment was provided by Christian rapper Dante Pride, and Undivided Worship led the evening in worship. Ben Russell of YouthAlive brought the message.  

In the parking lot, Chick-Fil-A of Cullman introduced its new food truck, and the coffee bus from Warehouse Coffee served drinks and treats as well. 

The evening was emceed by Life Church youth pastor Curtis Wall.  

“The vision of City Night was to bring together the youth of Hartselle and surrounding areas, putting aside denominational barriers and uniting for one purpose: to worship Jesus,” Wall said.  

Jaime Hatcher, HACC director of programs and events said the Chamber “was the umbrella that City Night fell under, but the event could not have been executed without the generous support of so many churches, non-profit organizations and businesses. We hope to make this an annual event and improve it each year.” 

Wall said he has been a part of the Hartselle youth community for two years, but “I have not seen anything like City Night.”  

“It was truly amazing to see youth from different backgrounds, churches and schools come together and unify for one purpose: Jesus,” Wall said. “What a big step for Hartselle. It was a very special night.” 

City Night sponsors included Hartselle First Assembly of God, Bob Sittason and David Evans of Hartselle Camp Meeting, First United Methodist Church Youth, Warehouse Coffee, Neel United Methodist Church, Redstone Federal Credit Union, East Highland Baptist Church, West Hartselle Baptist Church and Spencer Bell Ministries.
