Lady Tigers win first home game 3-0 over Lawrence Co.

The Hartselle Lady Tigers took the field at home for the first time this season against Lawrence County. It was standing room only to see the Lady Tigers for the first time at home.

Blayne Godfrey opened the game with a scoreless top of the first, striking out two Lady Red Devils.

Larissa Preuitt put the Lady Tigers on the board with a home run to start the bottom of the first inning.

Hartselle added two more runs in the bottom of the third inning. Preuitt beat out an infield single and then stole second base. Kaelyn Jones then beat out an infield single. Preuitt and Jones added stolen bases to move to second and third with Karsi Lentz at the plate. Lentz drove home Preuitt and Jones to give the Lady Tigers a 3-0 lead.

Godfrey continued her shutout by striking out five and allowing only three baserunners over the final four innings. She finished with 12 strikeouts in earning the win.

Preuitt finished with two hits, two runs, and an RBI with two stolen bases. Jones had a hit and run scored with a stolen base, while Lentz had a hit and an RBI.
