The Danville Hawks held off the East Lawrence Eagles, 53-44, in the Class 3A, Area 15, championship game. The win gives the Hawks a home-court advantage in subregional play. 

The Hawks advanced to the finals after defeating Phil Campbell in overtime earlier in the week. 

JoJo Whisenant led Danville (24-7) with 13 points and eight rebounds. Kohl Randolph finished with 11 points and nine rebounds. Carter Holladay added 11 points. 

Danville took a 10-7 lead after the first quarter but trailed 19-18 at halftime. Whisenant and Randolph combined for 13 points as the Hawks outscored the Eagles  21-10 in the third quarter.
