Boys Basketball Roundup: Falkville finishes week undefeated

Falkville finished undefeated this past week in basketball action. Falkville picked up wins over Danville and Hatton, while Priceville got wins over Ardmore, St. John Paul II and East Limestone.

Falkville 67, Danville 55

Falkville got a little revenge in a 67-55 win over Danville Jan. 24. Four days earlier, the Hawks defeated the Blue Devils 62-48 in the Morgan County Tournament.

Falkville led 29-23 at halftime and 41-35 after three quarters. The Blue Devils outscored Danville 26-20 in the fourth quarter to get the victory.

Falkville was led by Avery Miller’s 24 points, nine rebounds and two blocks. Camden Reid added 10 points and four rebounds, while Colton Hooper had nine. Josh Bradford added seven points and seven rebounds.

Kohl Randolph finished with 19 points to lead Danville. Jo Jo Whisenant had 14, while Carter Holladay scored seven.

Falkville 67, Hatton 39

The Blue Devils picked up their 18th win of the season, 67-39, over Hatton. Falkville broke open a 22-20 game at the half by outscoring the Hornets 24-8 in the third quarter.

Dawson Norwood finished with 23 points and three blocks to lead the Blue Devils. Miller and Reid each had eight points for the, while Isaiah Warnick scored seven. Miller also had 10 rebounds and two blocks.

Priceville 66, East Limestone 53

Friday Priceville picked up a 66-53 road win over 5A East Limestone. The Bulldogs led 32-19 at halftime and 45-36 after three quarters.

Brody Long hit three three-pointers and finished with 14 points to lead Priceville. Chris Thomas had 10 points and seven rebounds, while freshman Sammy Holmes had 10 points. Elijah Hopkins had nine points and seven assists.

Priceville 56, St. John Paul II 38

Priceville secured the second seed in the 4A Area 13 tournament with a 56-38 win at St. John Paul II Thursday. The Bulldogs led 22-21 at halftime but used a 20-7 third quarter to bust open the game.

Thomas finished with 20 points six rebounds to lead Priceville. Hopkins added 11 points and six assists, while Jake Langlois had nine points, seven rebounds and four steals.

Priceville 55, Ardmore 42

The Bulldogs had points from 12 different players in their 55-42 win on the road at Ardmore. Priceville led 9-6 after the first and 25-17 at halftime.

Senior Kekey Fletcher finished with seven points and four assists to lead Priceville. Holmes added seven points and four rebounds, while Thomas had six points, four rebounds and four steals.

Danville 51, Phil Campbell 29

Danville improved to 20-6 and 6-0 in area play with a 51-29 win over Phil Campbell Friday. The Hawks led 27-16 at halftime and 40-21 after three quarters.

Kohl Randolph finished with 16 points and five rebounds to lead Danville. Witten Morgan had nine points, while Carter Holladay scored eight. Johnathan Ryan added seven rebounds.

Danville 52, Brewer 42

Danville picked up a 52-42 win on the road at Brewer Jan. 25. The Hawks trailed 26-22 at halftime but outscored the Patriots 30-16 in the second half to earn the victory.

Randolph finished with 21 points and nine rebounds to lead Danville. Whisenant added 19 points and nine rebounds, while Morgan had eight points and six assists.

Russell Mahan had 15 points and two blocks to lead Brewer (3-18). Tamerion Watkins added 10 points, while Kade George had eight points and four rebounds.

West Morgan 83, Brewer 49

Brewer fell to 3-19 with an 83-49 loss on the road at West Morgan Friday. The Patriots trailed 53-30 at halftime.

Austyn Holmes scored 10 points to lead Brewer, while Mahan and Hunter Lawrence each had eight points.

Carson Muse finished with 17 points to lead West Morgan. Dyllan Ward had 13 points, while Isaac Ward added 11 and Jordan Johnson had 10 in the victory.
