Jeffrey Glenn Dutton 

Hartselle 

Funeral service for Jeffrey Glenn Dutton, 56, was held Jan. 21 at 3 p.m. at East Highland Baptist Church with Bro. Walter Blackman, Bro. Jim Smith and Bro. Charles Stone officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial was in Hartselle Memory Gardens.
Mr. Dutton died Jan. 16 at Huntsville Hospital. He was born May 29, 1965, in Morgan County, to George Glenn Dutton and Roberta Faye Keel Dutton.  

He was employed with the maintenance department at Toyota Manufacturing prior to his passing. He was a mentor to the young maintenance technicians that come to Toyota. He also enjoyed hunting.  

His parents preceded him in death. 

Survivors include a sister, Kristi Dutton Jenkins (Joey); companion, Sherry Reeves; stepson, Christopher Reeves; one step-grandchild, Rylan Reeves; nephew, Dalton Jenkins (Savannah); niece, Hannah Kodra (Kody); great-nieces, Ivy Jane and Ila Jenkins; and great-nephew, Rip Kodra. 

Pallbearers were Dalton Jenkins, Christopher Reeves, Kody Kodra, Doug Keel, Kevin Reeves, Frankie Lackey and Shannon Briggs. 

Anne Walker 

Decatur 

A memorial service for Anne Walker, 82, was held Jan. 22 at 2 p.m. at Grace River Community Church with Bro. Barry Semptrot officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. 

Mrs. Walker died Jan. 17 at Decatur Morgan Parkway Medical Center. She was born July 24, 1939, in Morgan County to Floyd Wigginton and Mamie Louise Maze Wigginton.  

She was employed by Pineview Hospital in the accounting department; by Walker & Sons Trading Post in retail; and by the Alabama Mail Service during her working career and prior to retirement. She was a member of the Grace River Community Church and a loving wife, mother and grandmother.  

She was preceded in death by her husband, Steve Walker, and a sister, Lurleen Marco. 

Survivors include her sons, Barry Ransom, Ricky Ransom and Ty Walker; brother, Floyd Wigginton; sisters, Sarah Sharp, Reba Henry and Marsha Pike Moore; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. 

Frankie Whitehead 

Danville 

Graveside service for Frankie Whitehead, 74, of Danville was held Jan. 21 at 11 a.m. at Johnson Chapel Cemetery with Peck Funeral Home directing.   

Mr. Whitehead was born Dec. 5, 1947, in Cullman County to Luther Robert Whitehead and Fran Lucille Harbison. He passed away Jan. 15 at his residence.   

Frankie worked 30 years as an electrician. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He loved fishing, turkey shoots and horseback riding. 

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Carolyn Adams. 

Survivors include his wife, Frances J. Whitehead; four daughters, Delisa Templeton (Barry) of Danville, Christine Willingham (Eugene) of Hartselle, Sheila Ayers (Leonard) of Decatur and Stephanie Stover (Kevin) of Danville; two brothers, Robert Whitehead of Cullman and Ronald Whitehead of Moulton; sister, Shirley Watwood of Double Springs; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. 

Pallbearers were Joshua Stover, Sean Stover, Kevin Stover, Eugene Willingham, Leonard Ayers and Barry Templeton. 

Billy Cagle 

Hartselle 

Funeral service for Billy Cagle, 75, was held Jan. 21 at 1 p.m. at Harmony Grove Church with Eric Dabbs officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial was in Oak Ridge Cemetery.   

Mr. Cagle died Jan. 18 at his residence. He was born Jan. 21, 1946, in Morgan County to Eddy Walker Cagle and Rosie Luverge Reece Cagle. He was preceded in death by his parents.  

He was of the Pentecostal faith and was a member of Harmony Grove Church. He was loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and great-grandfather and will be greatly missed by his family. 

Survivors include wife, Margaret L. Cagle, Hartselle; son, Jason O’Neal Cagle, Hartselle; brother, Clarence Cagle, Hartselle; sisters, Merry Helen Wimberley, Falkville, and Mary Ellen Cagle, Decatur; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

Pallbearers were Douglas Cowart (BeBo), Bert Davis, Rodger Smith, Chris Muse, Bobo Cowart, Michael Muse and Joey Stricklin.    

Roy Jones 

Falkville 

Funeral service for Roy Jones, 93, of Decatur was held Jan. 22 at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Gary Patton officiating. Burial was in the Ebenezer Cemetery in Cullman County. Peck Funeral Home directed. 

Mr. Jones, who was born Dec. 31, 1928, in Cullman County to William Jackson Jones and Josephene Parker Jones, died Jan. 20 at the Falkville Heathcare Facility.  

He retired from Wolverine Tube as a crane operator with 39 years of service. He was an avid Alabama fan and loved to fish and garden.  

He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Audrey Holmes Jones; a grandson, Jeffrey Michael Sandor; a daughter-in-law, Diana Jones; and eight siblings, Irvin Jones, Elbert Jones, Venamae Gillan, Johnny Jones, Perdina Holmes, Floyd Jones, Annie Mae Depreast and Stella Beaver. 

He is survived by a son, Wendell Jones; two daughters, Diane Shelton (Steve) and Melissa Sandor (Mike); a sister, Shelby Wynn; three grandchildren, Nicole Shelton Belcher (Jeff), Jennifer Shelton Lentz and Andrew Sandor (Julianne); and three great-grandchildren, Kassi Lentz, Asher Lentz and Wyatt Sandor. 

Andrew Sandor, Asher Lentz, Wyatt Tomlin and Jeff Belcher served as pallbearers. 

William A. “Junior” Waddell Jr.  

Falkville 

Lifetime Morgan County resident, William A. “Junior” Waddell Jr., peacefully passed on to be with his Saviour Jan. 12. 

Junior was born April 15, 1927, in Morgan County. He was preceded in death by his mother, Lula Waddell Kent; his grandparents, Lee Polk and Mollie B. Waddell; and 12 older brothers and sisters. 

Mr. Waddell is survived by his wife, Essie Lee Eddy Waddell; one son, William “Bill” Waddell (Jean); two daughters, Elizabeth Waldrop and Barbara Brown (John); five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; numerous great-great-grandchildren; and cousins, nieces and nephews. 

Junior led an active and community-involved life. He was a World War II veteran, serving in the U.S. Navy. He earned a bachelor’s degree in chemistry and math from Athens College and was retired from the Monsanto Textile Division.  

In the 1980s, Mr. Waddell served as chairman of the Morgan County Commission and was appointed to the Morgan County industrial Board by the Alabama State Legislature. 

Junior was a Master Checker Player, winning several tournaments and placing second in the Alabama State Tournament. He was a diehard Alabama fan, a gospel singer, a great gardener and an avid fisherman. In his later years, he really enjoyed weekly card games with some of his closest friends. 

A private graveside service was held Jan. 14 at Cook Cemetery in Morgan County. 

The family would like to thank all the nurses and staff of Southern Care New Beacon Decatur for their kind and attentive care. 

Gary Wayne Turner 

Cullman 

Graveside service and a time of visitation for Gary Wayne Turner, 68, of Cullman was held Jan. 24 at noon at Bell Springs Cemetery with Brother Keith Whitley officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.  

Mr. Turner, who was born Feb. 4, 1953, to John Anderson Turner and Mary Mertle Ezel Turner, died Jan. 22 at his home. He owned and operated Turner Painting and worked hard doing what he loved. He loved his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Turner. 

He is survived by five sons, Gary Chris Turner, Wayne Terry, Guy Terry, James Terry and Adam Terry; one daughter, Kandy Woehler; a brother, Charles Turner; two sisters, Betty Malone and Gail Bailey; 14 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. 

Guy Terry, James Terry, Kenneth Knott, Josh Terry, James Terry Jr., Chris Bradford and Adam Terry served as pallbearers. 

Danny Lance Alred  

Hartselle 

Services for Danny Lance Alred were Monday at Peck Funeral Home at 1 p.m. Interment followed at Midway Memorial Gardens in Moulton. 

Danny passed away Jan. 20 at his residence in Danville. He was born to Curtis Walter Alred and Helen Jean Duke Alred Oct. 20, 1956, in Lawrence County. He will be remembered by his family as a loving father and grandfather and hard worker with Pole Barn Construction. He was an avid outdoorsman, loved Alabama football and once met Paul “Bear” Bryant. He enjoyed his prayer time and watching Jesse Duplantis. 

He is preceded in death by his father, Curtis Walter Alred, and granddaughter, Olivia Alred.  

He is survived by his mother, Helen Alred of Hartselle; children, Jonathan Alred (Emily) of Hartselle, Zack Alred (Kelsey) of Hartselle and Nick Alred of Danville; daughters, Danna Owen (Joseph) of Decatur and Sydney Krohe (Weston) of Decatur; brother, Greg Alred (Jina) of Hartselle; sister, Kim Roberts (Keith) of Hartselle; grandchildren, Madalynn Owen, Katie Beth Owen, Henry Alred, Elisa Hayes, Bentley Krohe, Asher Alred and soon to enter their loving family Holsten Krohe. 

Pallbearers were Jonathan Alred, Zack Alred, Nick Alred, Weston Krohe, Joseph Owen, Keith Roberts. 

Brother Steve Ledbetter and Brother Greg Alred did the officiating. 

The family asked that attendees wear masks and practice social distancing during visitation and services. 

Danny Andrew Goodner 

Lacey’s Spring 

Funeral service for Danny Andrew Goodner, 59, of Lacey’s Spring was held Jan. 25 at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Greg Lee officiating. Burial was in Mt. Tabor Cemetery. Peck Funeral Home directed.   

Danny was born Feb. 18, 1962, in Chicago, Illinois, to William Andrew Goodner and Juanita Inez Dudley Goodner and died Jan. 21 at Huntsville Hospital.  

He was preceded in death by his father and a brother, David Goodner. 

Danny was an avid outdoorsman. He loved to fish and was a member of various hunting clubs. He enjoyed getting out and hunting turkey, ducks, hogs, coyotes and especially deer. When he wasn’t hunting or fishing, he was rooting for the Alabama Crimson Tide. Danny also loved his job at Sonoco Baker Industries, where he had worked for almost 42 years. 

He is survived by his daughter, Ashley Foster (Aaron); his mother, Juanita Goodner; a sister, Debbie Long (Michael); three grandchildren, Savanah, Teagan and Charley Anna; his nephew, Kaleb Long (Kassie); nieces, Whitney Wilborn (Jason) and Lindsey St. John (Wes); and his great-nieces and nephew, Addie, Lainey, Kayden and Lizzie. 

Pallbearers were David Maze, Tracy Maze, Rick Roberson, John Womack, Caleb Long and Patrick Smith.
