Priceville wins West Point Christmas Tournament
The Priceville Bulldogs picked up three double-digit wins to triumph in the West Point Christmas Tournament. They defeated West Point 72-60 in the finals.
The Bulldogs led 19-17 after the first quarter against West Point. They dominated the second quarter, holding the Warriors to two points in building a 39-19 halftime lead.
At the end of three quarters, the Priceville boys maintained a 20-point advantage, 55-35. West Point outscored Priceville by eight in the fourth.
Cole Lindeman scored a game-high 20 points to lead Priceville (13-3). Chris Thomas added 13 points and eight rebounds, while Elijah Hopkins had 11 points and eight assists. Josh Greenhill finished with 10 points and five rebounds.
Priceville advanced to the championship game with wins over Brewer and Holly Pond.
Priceville 66, Brewer 50
In the semifinals, the Bulldogs faced off against the Brewer Patriots, who they had defeated 80-47 two weeks earlier.
Priceville jumped out to an early lead, but the Patriots battled back to lead 15-14 at the end of the first quarter. Brewer led 30-28 at halftime.
Priceville outscored Brewer 17-11 to take a 45-41 lead into the fourth, and the Bulldogs dominated the fourth quarter, outscoring the Patriots 21-9 to win 66-50.
Thomas’ double-double led Priceville. He finished with 26 points and 11 rebounds. Sammy Holmes hit four three-pointers and finished with 13 points and five rebounds. Greenhill grabbed 12 rebounds, while Hopkins dished out 11 assists.
Priceville 66, Holly Pond 38
The Bulldogs opened up the West Point Christmas Tournament with a dominating 66-38 win over Holly Pond.
Lindeman scored a game-high 17 points and five rebounds to lead Priceville. Jake Langlois added 14 points and three steals, while Hopkins finished with nine points and six assists.
