Several years ago, my wife bought me a sweatshirt for our annual tacky Christmas sweater party. 

It wasn’t exactly a sweater, but it was made to look like one. It has Batman on it, checking his naughty and nice list. The lists have the usual suspects: Alfred and Robin on the nice list and Joker and Bane on the naughty list.  

Around this time of year, people definitely don’t want to be on the naughty list!  

One thing we can celebrate as Christians is when we are in Christ, we are no longer worried about any list. The Bible teaches us that if we walk in the light as He is in the light, the blood of Christ washes away our sins (1 John 1:7).  

Jesus, through His sacrifice, has essentially wiped our list clean.  

That is the reason to celebrate this holiday season. Merry Christmas!
