Brewer, Priceville girls pick up wins at Encore Classic

Priceville and Brewer picked up wins at the Encore Classic hosted by Hartselle High School.

Priceville Lady Bulldogs
Priceville 52, Arab 38

The Lady Bulldogs defeated Arab 52-38 on the final day of the event, after having lost to Hartselle 56-42 earlier in the tourney.

The Lady Bulldogs (4-1), who led 27-22 at halftime, pulled away from the Lady Knights in the second half to win 52-38 on the final day of the Encore Classic.

Lauren Hames scored a game-high 16 points and added six rebounds to lead Priceville. Olivia Gann added 13 points and six rebounds, while Leslie Hames finished with 11 points.

Sydney Ferguson’s nine points led Arab.

Brewer Lady Patriots
Brewer 43, Cold Springs 33

Brewer opened the Encore Classic with a win over Cold Springs before dropping two close games to Arab and Oneonta.

Hope West scored a game-high 16 points and pulled down seven rebounds to lead the Lady Patriots (3-4) to a 43-33 win over Cold Springs on the opening day of the tourney.

Chloe Romine added 12 points, while Carrie Mosley had seven.

Ella Dickerson scored 14 points to lead Cold Springs.

Arab 32, Brewer 28

The Lady Patriots (3-5) led 12-8 at the half but couldn’t hold off Arab, who outscored Brewer 24-16 in the second half to get the win.

West scored 11 points to lead the Lady Patriots. Romine added eight, and Reagan Lowery had five. Jacey Atkinson had a team-high seven rebounds.

Oneonta 42, Brewer 39

Oneonta led by one at the break and outscored the Lady Patriots 13-11 in the fourth to grab the 42-39 win.

West had 15 points to lead Brewer (3-6). Atkinson added 10 points, and Bailey Hale had eight points and six rebounds.

Falkville Lady Blue Devils
Falkville dropped two games at the Encore Classic, losing to Oneonta and Lawrence County.

Oneonta 43, Falkville 35

The Lady Redskins built a 24-16 halftime lead and held on for the 43-25 win over the Lady Blue Devils.

Elli Lorance finished with 14 points and four rebounds to lead Falkville (3-3). Ellie Cate Hill added 12 points and six rebounds.

Lawrence County 62, Falkville 35

Playing without two starters because of injury, the Lady Blue Devils (3-4) fell to Lawrence County 62-35 on the final day of the Classic.

Hill finished with 12 points and seven rebounds to lead Falkville. Lorance added six points.
