Danville recognizes Septemeber students month

By Martha Jackson

Congratulations go out this week to the following Danville High School students for being selected as the students of the month for September: freshman Eli Coker, sophomore Tommy Allred, junior Faith Parker and senior Jackie Holmes.

In other Danville news, the residents of Danville and the surrounding area really enjoy The Pink Pig food truck’s wonderful food. The owners are Shawn and Anita Luker. Their food truck ranked in the top four for Bama’s Best Pulled Pork. The Pink Pig operates in Danville on Tuesdays, Hatton on Wednesdays, Trinity on Fridays and in Moulton Saturday and Sunday. They are open from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m., except Sundays, when they are open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

VFW Post 10774 Auxiliary to hold a Let’s Paint activity

Come join the Falkville VFW Auxiliary Oct. 21 for a Let’s Paint event from 5-7 p.m.

This will be a chance to paint a picture and learn all about the Auxiliary. It is free to anyone who would like to attend.

To sign up visit signupgenius.com/go/4090845AEA82CABFC1-lets1

Attendees are not required to bring anything except their masks.

Shady Grove Church Activities

The members of Shady Grove Baptist Church are celebrating October Pastor Appreciation Month. Their pastor, Tom Campbell, and his wife Connie have been at Shady Grove Baptist Church for 30 years this month. Members are asked to pray for him, write handwritten letters or notes of encouragement and thank him for his sacrificial dedication and multiple blessings.

Other ideas for Brother Tom and Connie include a favorite meal, snacks or gift cards.

Shady Grove Church invites everyone to join them at Danville-Neel Elementary School’s Trunk or Treat Oct. 29 from 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m.  The school is looking for people who will decorate their cars and bring them to the school along with candy and treats to give out. All support will be greatly appreciated!
