Falkville uses big first half to blow by Cold Springs

Falkville got a big night from quarterback Caden Burnett in the Blue Devils’ 49-7 win over Cold Springs. 

Burnett finished with 260 total yards and five touchdowns in leading the Blue Devils to victory. He had seven completions in eight attempts for 211 yards and four touchdowns while rushing for 49 yards and a touchdown. 

Burnett had touchdown passes of 14 and 49 yards to Isaiah Warnick, a 55-yarder to Andrew Jones and a 69-yard touchdown to Lawson Tew. 

The Blue Devils went to halftime leading 42-0. Their final score was a 53-yard pass from Landon Powers to Jones in the third quarter. 

The Blue Devils finished with 458 total yards. They averaged 11.45 yards per play in finishing with 274 yards passing and 184 yards rushing. 

Jordan Greenfield added 127 yards rushing and one touchdown. 

The Blue Devils (4-1, 2-0) venture back into region play this Friday when they host Section (2-3, 0-3).
