George Hearring presents sixth annual 9/11 Prayer Vigil

By Martha Jackson

George Hearring will present the sixth annual 9/11 Prayer Vigil at the Hartselle First Missionary Baptist Church, 309 Bethel St., in Hartselle, set for Sept. 11.

The doors will open at 5 p.m. All prayer warriors of all ages are invited to attend. Everyone is invited who is willing to take a stand for God.

Those gathered will be praying in remembrance of the terrorist attacks the morning of Sept. 11, 2001 . They will be praying for all the families who had loved ones perish. Their prayer will be for mankind, for everlasting peace, for love of people who are not like us and for families to be families and stay together.

This prayer vigil is about the glory of God and how good He is! We should do as the scripture says: Pray without ceasing. As David said in Psalm 55:16-17, we should be praying morning, noon and evening.

This prayer vigil is also about unity here on earth – to glorify God. It is about seeing whether you will break out of your comfort zone, join others who are not like you and join hands to send up praises in one accord.

This is a time and place we can show our love for each other and for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. This is a call to all who love the Lord. Red, yellow, black or white, all are precious in His sight.

We know prayer changes things. When prayers go up, blessings come down.

And yes, prayers are answered! God is pleased when we acknowledge Him.

There is power in the name of Jesus to break every chain. If you agree with that, this is an open invitation for us to worship together.

For more information about this prayer vigil, contact George Hearring at 256-919-9194.
