Hartselle Camp Meeting is an annual, community-wide time of revival services, food and fellowship held at the Hartselle Tabernacle on Tabernacle Road. Back for its 122nd consecutive year, the event begins Sunday with a special men’s recognition service for Father’s Day preached by Junior Hill. Other speakers for the week-long meeting include Michael Mason, Phil Waldrep, Bobby Ray Halbrooks and camp meeting president Rob Cain.

While the event was held in 2020, Cain said the COVID-19 pandemic caused some issues, and he is looking forward to camp being held this year under more normal circumstances.

This past year’s event operated at roughly 75 percent capacity, but Cain said this year the crowd is expected to be larger, and restrictions will be lifted.

“Even last year we had a full camp meeting experience. We had a really strong crowd, so we’re building off that,” he said. “We do want people know that, if they feel more comfortable, they are welcome to wear masks or sit outside the tabernacle in lawn chairs and practice social distancing.”

Hartselle Camp Meeting will feature two services daily, at 10:30 a.m. and 7 p.m. Both are open to the public.

“This year we’re expecting a very good crowd of students, and we’re opening up everything to attendance,” Cain said. “We’re going to have meals provided for anyone who wants to come and purchase a meal and fellowship.”

Because of pandemic concerns in 2020, group choirs were not a part of the event, but Cain said choirs will return this year.

Special guest singers are also a part of the scheduled events.
