Hartselle youth wins big during Junior Beef Expo

Caden Childers of Hartselle exhibits the reserve grand champion Alabama Bred and Owned heifer at the Alabama Farmers Federation Junior Beef Expo Heifer Show March 20 in Montgomery. His heifer was also champion Alabama Bred and Owned Percentage Simmental. Childers received a scholarship for his efforts from the Alabama Wheat & Feed Grain Producers. The show was presented by Alfa Insurance. Childers is pictured with Judge Jim Bloomberg of Illinois and Federation Executive Director Paul Pinyan. Childers also exhibited the third overall animal during the Market Show March 19 at the Junior Beef Expo. As third overall, he received a $3,000 scholarship sponsored by Great Southern Wood. He also exhibited the champion Chianina. He is pictured with Judge Scott Werning of South Dakota and Federation President Jimmy Parnell.
