Falkville plans town-wide yard sale

Yard sale-lovers are in for a treat next month when the Town of Falkville holds the inaugural town-wide, weekend-long yard sale April 30 through May 2.

Town marketing coordinator Chrystalynn Beard said there will be no cost to participate in the event. Limited spaces will be offered at Town Hall on a first-come, first-served basis; to secure a space at town hall, applications must be filled out and returned by April 16.

The yard sale will be held from 7 a.m. until around 1 p.m. each day, depending on the weather, Beard said.

Falkville residents and non-residents alike are invited to hold yard sales that coincide with the event, and if they register with Falkville Town Hall, their yard sales will be added to a map that will be passed out to patrons.

“This is just a way to bring people together,” Beard said. “Some Falkville residents and people who are out in the county don’t get to have regular yard sales because they live so far out. We thought this would be a good thing to offer Falkville and Morgan County residents.”

In case of rain or inclement weather, alternate days will be announced.

For an application, email cbeard@falkville.org, visit Falkville Town Hall at 21 N. First Ave. or visit www.falkville.org or the Town of Falkville Facebook page.
