Lacey’s Spring woman faces possession charges

Special to the Enquirer

A search of a suspicious vehicle has led to the arrest of a Lacey’s Spring woman.

Ashli Nicole Sloan, 28, of Lacey’s Spring was arrested for possession of a controlled substance–methamphetamine by the Morgan County Sheriff’s Drug Enforcement Unit.

According to the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were leaving a home on Farm Supply Road after executing a search warrant when they noticed a suspicious vehicle parked at the church near the home.

Deputies made contact with the driver, Sloan, and determined she had an outstanding felony warrant with the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office, according to investigators.

During the vehicle search, deputies observed a quantity of what appeared to be methamphetamine. Deputies utilized a field test and confirmed it was methamphetamine, according to the MCSO.

Narcotics agents were called to the scene and placed Sloan under arrest. She was booked in the Morgan County Jail on a $1,000 bond.

Sloan will be transferred to Marshall County if they elect to extradite on their outstanding felony warrant.
