Boys Basketball: Danville wins 3A Area 15 regular-season title

The Danville Hawks won the 3A Area 15 regular-season title with a 62-46 victory at Phil Campbell Friday. 

The Hawks jumped out to a 19-13 first-quarter lead and never looked back. They led 32-21 at halftime and continued to build that lead in the second half, outscoring the Bobcats 30-25. 

KJ Melson finished with 29 points and five rebounds to lead Danville (14-8, 6-0). Kohl Randolph added 13 points and six rebounds, while Dylan Parker had eight points and seven rebounds. 

Brewer 53, Danville 38 

The Brewer boys picked up their seventh win of the season with a 53-38 victory over Danville. 

The Patriots (7-12)  were led by Russell Mahan, who hit five three-pointers and finished with a game-high 24 points. 

Melson hit four three-pointers and finished with 17 points to lead Danville. Kohl Randolph added 10 points. 

Falkville 88, JB Pennington 72 

The Blue Devils scored a season-high 88 points in their win at JB Pennington Jan. 26. 

Avery Miller finished with 30 points and 12 rebounds to lead Falkville (5-16). Dawson Norwood added 16 points, Joshua Bradford had 12 points and Wyatt Tomlin scored 11. 

Whitesburg Christian 49, Falkville 41 

The Warriors defeated Falkville 49-41 Friday evening. 

Miller had 12 points and seven rebounds in the loss for Falkville (5-18). Bradford had seven points and seven rebounds, while Tomlin added six points and four rebounds. 

Hatton 62, Falkville 51 

The Hornets outscored Falkville 13-2 in overtime to pick up a 62-51 win Thursday. 

Miller finished with 27 points and eight rebounds to lead Falkville (5-17), including five three-pointers. Austin Holmes and Joshua Bradford each had six points. 

West Morgan 70, Priceville 54 

Carson Muse scored a game-high 28 points in the Rebels’ 16-point win over PricevilleDyllan Ward and Dylan Owens finished with 13 points each, and Skyler Hutto added 11. 

Dylan Fry finished with 20 points to lead Priceville, while Chris Thomas added 12. 

East Limestone 52, Priceville 41 

The Indians, who trailed 9-8 following the first quarter, outscored Priceville 32-22 in the second and third quarters to pull away for a 52-41 win Friday night. 

Cole Lindeman scored 13 points to lead Priceville. Thomas had 11 points. 

Kenneth Timmons finished with a game-high 15 points to lead East Limestone.
