Hartselle wrestling wins AHSAA Region 8 Duals

The Hartselle wrestling team won the AHSAA Region 8 Dual Championship this past weekend by winning five matches over the two-day event. The team defeated Athens in the championship match.
The Tigers opened the meet Friday evening with wins over Hazel Green (74-0), East Limestone (77-0) and Decatur (66-12).
Saturday Hartselle defeated Buckhorn in the semi-finals, 51-16, and Athens in the championship match, 51-26.
Defending state champ Lincoln Bryant (126) won three matches during the duals, while Ryan Garrison (285) won four. Ethan England (132) won four matches.
The Tigers advance to the AHSAA State Dual Championships this weekend.
