Shorthanded Lady Tigers fall on the road at Hazel Green

The Lady Tigers dropped their first game of the season as they fell 47-28 to the three-time defending 6A state champions, Hazel Green.

Hartselle was playing without two starters, Masyn Marchbanks and Alyssa McMinemon.

The Trojans held Hartselle to ten first-half points as they built a 17-point halftime lead, 27-10.

The Lady Tigers fought back in the third quarter as they outscored the Lady Trojans 14-11 to cut the lead to 38-24 heading to the fourth.

Hazel Green held Hartselle to one field goal and four total points in the fourth to seal the victory.

Lillyanna Cartee led Hartselle with 11 points, while Hailey Holshouser finished with ten points.

Leah Brooks led all scorers with 16, while Grace Watson added 12 for Hazel Green.

Hartselle (2-1) will host Madison Academy on Saturday at 11 am.
