Hartselle volleyball picks up wins over Danville and Priceville

It was a battle of ranked teams Tuesday evening at Hartselle High School as 6A No. 4 Hartselle played host to 4A No. 5 Priceville and 3A No. 2 Danville.

The Tigers celebrated Senior Night and the careers of Hailey Holshouser, Lillyanna Cartee, Tori Hughes, and Jessica Jarrett. The seniors have been a part of more than 170 wins during their four years at Hartselle.

Hartselle celebrated in style with wins over Danville 25-16, 25-23, and Priceville 25-17, 25-15.

Hartselle was led by Grace Tapscott who had 40 assists, five digs, four kills, and three aces. Hailey Holshouser had 24 digs and 10 kills, while Lillyanna Cartee added 14 kills, 14 digs, three blocks, and two aces. Jessica Jarrett had 10 digs, Tori Highes recorded 14 digs, and Jadyn Chesser added nine kills and eight digs.

Hartselle (30-8), who has won 16 matches in a row, will travel to Cullman on Thursday for matches with Cullman and Cordova.

Danville defeats Priceville

Danville defeated Priceville 26-24, 27-25 to salvage a split for the Hawks.

Danville will travel to Vinemont for an area matchup with the Eagle and then a match with Fultondale while Priceville travels to Randolph for an area matchup on Thursday afternoon.
