Falkville Police Department welcomes two new police officers

Falkville Police Department is excited to announce two newly swornin police officers: Markus Solomon and Skylar Thomas. Both were sworn in earlier this month at the Falkville Town Council meeting.

Falkville received a COPS – Community Oriented Policing Services – grant, which is sponsored by the U.S. Department of Justice. The COPS grant is a threeyear award for two officers, with the town matching 25 percent for their salary and benefits.

Congratulations, Skylar Thomas and Markus Solomon.

Thank you, Falkville Volunteer Fire Department

A special thank you goes out this week to the Falkville Volunteer Fire Department firefighters for all of your time you have given up for others.

All of you are appreciated for your service to the community.

During the month of August, the Falkville Fire Department received 61 calls: 31 for EMS11 for fire14 for MVCthree for weather and two others

All of the Falkville volunteer firefighters sacrifice much of their time to serve their community. Through hard work and dedication, Falkville volunteers responded to 91 percent of the calls.

Thank you and God bless all of our volunteer firefighters.
