Hartselle man faces drug charges
Special to the Enquirer
For the past several months, agents with the Morgan County Sheriff’s Drug Enforcement Unit, assisted by the Hartselle Police Department, conducted a narcotics investigation involving Michael Shann Springer, 55, of Hartselle. July 7, agents obtained probable cause for a search warrant for Springer’s residence, located in the 300 block of Spring Valley Road in an unincorporated area of Hartselle – and that search ended with charges leveled against Springer.
According to the MCSO, agents made entry into the residence and detained Springer. Upon search of the residence, agents recovered a large quantity of a crystalline substance that field tested positive for methamphetamine, along with cash, several firearms and drug paraphernalia.
Agents charged Springer with trafficking in methamphetamine.
Springer was booked in the Morgan County Jail, and his bond was set at $125,000. Additional charges are pending, according to the MCSO.
